"Oh, the rooms were lovely!" He laughed, cheerfully. "One very much like my own room! One can only hope the closet shares just as close of a resemblance as well." The wolf replied, equally as conversationally.
"Thank you, Az..Aza- child." He stumbled with the boy's name, though had no intention of being condescending. He had just never heard anything remotely like it before. He accepted his drink, with a polite nod.
"Tis no problem." He turned back towards Gilrin, relaxing a little more in his seat. "Everyone has a right to be a bit nervous, don't we?" Hardly turning his head, Curtis glimpsed at the two white-haired children. His suspicions did make sense to him. As ghastly as the two looked when they first met, the fangs he thought he saw, and other such oddities he had witnessed and heard- he wouldn't doubt they were something a bit more malevolent then they seem. Was there not reason to wonder where the other occupants were? Was he to believe they had all been lost in a room or managed to escape the house? He wasn't entirely comfortable with accepting their word in those cases. Not yet, anyways.
In fact, it was perfect that Gilrin was now right by his side. He couldn't have planned it better himself. Behind her back, he casually reached into his coat with the tips of his nails, looking for that cross. Curtis wouldn't try anything tonight, or even threaten them. And he never would, unless the situation arose. But he'd rather have that holy pendant around his own neck by the time he retires this evening, just to be completely safe. Better safe than void of blood.
There was no trace of these thoughts in his expression. Only a smile as he sipped his tea.
"Lovely! You did a fine job."
