Airi shrugged slightly. "Where we are from probably means nothing to you, though I suppose It would be a bit rude to leave it at that. We grew up in a castle on our native world, we were rather privileged." She left it at that, apparently not very interested in sharing much more. "You're both rather good at picking the right sorts of questions to ask." Airi smiled slightly, it was good to have new people who seemed like they were likely to survive. Azazel continued where Airi stopped. "Like the doors, we learned it from previous inhabitants, it's difficult to do but it's the only way we know of to reliably end up where you want to go and not to get left behind on some random world." They did not have any desire to tell them everything yet, they were not holding back much, but until they trusted the new pair they would keep the rest to themselves. "There were eight other people living here when we arrived, and most of them had claimed to have been there for several years." Azazel answered Curtis's question, it was not the sort of information that sharing with others could be used against them so he was happy to share it.
Azazel squirmed a little, something both of them often did when they were uncomfortable, if they did not share what they knew and something happened to them then these two would be stranded. As much as he would like to keep such things to their advantage he could not really justify doing so to himself. He shoot Airi a questioning glance and she bit her lip then she too changed her mind. "It's a matter of how interesting the inn finds you if we understand it correctly." Azazel had started to explain, he paused for a moment as though considering how best to explain it. "If you bring enough things or people back that are particularly interesting it can be convinced to release you. You can sort of communicate it if you know how to use magic, it's confusing and hard to understand what it's trying to 'say' but we've tried it before." Journeying though the caves was required to do so, but he would wait to see if they even believed him before saying as much.
