Curtis laughed. A magic building that steals people. Was this a half-hearted attempt at a child's horror story? He didn't know where to begin to criticize it. These two teenagers must have been very bored...He was about to comment in a condescending tone right before he was interrupted by another door slam.

"'"Why is the door gone?"'
It didn't dawn on him that there may have been a smear of truth to what they said until her abrupt entrance and hysteria.

"Wait- wait...Not go back home- Captured?" He didn't mean to interrupt the other woman's panicking or the two's attempts at comforting her. "You don't understand. I have work that needs done, deals that need sealed..." He rambled, hitting a stage of incredulous denial while searching for the door. Wasn't it just there? I know it slammed! "I simply don't have time for folly parlor tricks." Curtis glared at the two, though their previous smiles only increased the chills going down his spine.

The equine shape-shifter calmed a bit which was surprising considering the other patron who was taking similar hysteria.

"Tea would be lovely." She said to the fellow white haired girl, but kept her grey eyes fixed to Curtis. She didn't want to sit as chairs tended to make her long legs uncomfortable. Her breathing had calmed enough for her to ask some simple questions, finally looking away from the man. "Is there any way at all to get back? Make this place release us?" Her thin brows came down just a bit showing slight concern. It was more for him than her. Gilrin had plenty of time to spend, and it seemed he did not.

[I too am going to bed, goodnight~]

They had expected the denial, but usually when someone new opted for denial it lasted longer then this, usually long enough for the eventual anger to be more focused on the building and not at them. They were not about to tell him that his work and his deals were all moot now, the situation was bad enough without them making it worse by pointing out the obvious. "W-we're not the ones doing this.." They might have even helped him out if they were able to, being lonely was hardly a good reason to keep someone here against their will. They both looked down at the floor sadly and Azazel answered. "If you have some sort of communication device it might still get service in here, you could still say your goodbyes if you want." He supposed it was possible that the tech level of the civilization the man was from was advanced enough to have devices like that. he had seen people using them to do that in the past. "It's not a trick you're really stuck here with us." He did not enjoy being glared at, it was a little scary and he was not exactly the best fighter when he was inside Cartesia and unable to use any proper combat magic. If the man tried attacking them under the mistaken impression they were the ones trapping him, he was not entirely sure of his chances in a fight.

Airi bit her lip nervously, it was not exactly impossible to escape, just exceedingly difficult. "Most people who try to escape, don't make it." She had almost said 'end up dead' rather then don't make it. She supposed it was still the same meaning but she was supposed to be calming the woman down. When she realized she had apparently succeeded she nodded then remembered that Lauren was still very dead and still sprawled over the bar's counter. "Ah...Theres just...I forgot the tea stuff is over there.." She pointed to the skeletal corpse and wondered why the flesh had all gone from it. From the amount of dust they couldn't have been asleep long enough for the body to have gotten to that state naturally could they? she shivered at the thought. She looked at the body then at Azazel, No she was sure they would have aged in some visible way if that were the case, their hair was the same length even their fingernails seemed more or less the same as she recalled.

"Communication device? No." He had little idea as to what they were referring to, but continued. "No. I need people to speak to. My partner, my employer..." Curtis was mostly trying to convince himself at this point. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he didn't complete his 'errands' on time, or drop off the money he owed. The same money in his pocket at the moment. If this took much longer than a day or two, he would be eating a silver bullet the moment he was seen back in the upper part of his town.

"Stuck here with you...That makes no sense." The lycan muttered quietly. His desperation led him to knocking the far end of his cane against the side of the wall, listening to the sounds it produced. Nothing promising, but he continued nonetheless as the two chattered to Gilrin. Momentarily quieted by the tap. tap.. tap...

If all this is true, what is stopping one from taking an axe to the walls? To toss a chair through the window? To set the room ablaze? He thought rashly between taps.

He couldn't have been the first one to think of it. But perhaps his internal questions were answered just then.

"If they don't make it- well...how do they perish, then?"
His anger momentarily dissipated. The dagger lodged in the skeleton's skull didn't seem the most inviting, and he would hate to allow his own head to procure one itself.
Should the children be feared?

Since he apparently had no idea what he was talking about Azazel had to assume the place he was from did not have phones or something along those lines. "I'm sorry there is not really anything I can think of to help with that at the moment." If he knew what Curtis had been thinking he would have explained that he would not in fact be seen in any part of his town to have to worry about bullets to the head, silver or otherwise. Azazel answered the unasked question, it was an obvious thing to explain. "The walls and windows are not breakable, and even if you could break through somehow you have no guarantee you will end up in your home world." Sometimes he wondered if the walls were even really walls and not some weird dimensional phenomena, or the lining of a stomach, or something equally disturbing. "Usually trying to bribe the building to let them go home. Sometimes it lets people go out because it wants things on other worlds. These places are usually fairly dangerous." Azazel's eye's shot to the body across the room. They were not the cause if that little incident, at least not directly anyway. "That wasn't us if you were wondering." He hoped none of the newcomers suspected them, it was hard enough to make new friends when people did not suspect you of sticking daggers into people's heads. Under normal circumstances he would have been amused by the idea of someone quite a bit larger then him being nervous around him, but under the circumstances it was not pleasant, or fun.

Distinct Werewolf

Homeworld?
He side-glanced the pierced corpse. What unnerved him the most now was how the house was spoken of as a sentient being. Perhaps a vengeful one, at that. Curtis turned to face the 'children' once more.

"Well, Azazel..." He began, though words were starting to fail him. What was one supposed to say in this situation? The door was gone, and Gilrin did not look of his world. Heck, even upon second glance Aurelia and her attire didn't seem to be of his realm exactly either! It seems there was little argue. Curtis gave a defeated sigh. Perhaps later he would have to figure things out on his own accord. It was too much to think about at the moment.

"I will have a bit of tea, too, if you wouldn't mind..."

Tipsy Mage

~~~~~ Azazel looked up at Curtis when addressed again, he waited a moment for him to continue and nodded slightly when nothing came of it. "I know this is all distressing bt we'll do our best to help, we don't mean you or anyone else any harm." He seemed to believe them, and for the moment he did not seem to be blaming them either, which was a nice change of pace from what he was used to. Typically the one doing the explaining tended to get a good amount of blame. If they hadn't been rather clearly sleeping there he might have even been tempted to have pretended to be a new arrival just like them. Though he supposed the lie would be hard to maintain, trial and error along with word of mouth had been the primary means of learning how to survive here. "I'll make the-"
~~~~~ Airi interrupted him before he could make the offer. "Lauren was my friend I should move her..." Airi still regretted offering the tea, she would need to move the body to get at it, but she supposed they could hardly keep putting it off like they had before. It was depressing and in hindsight a more then a little disrespectful. They had attempted to use magic to preserve the body, maybe even in the hopes on reviving their friend somehow. At this point that was not really an option anymore. Airi walked to another couch took a dusty thin blanket that had been draped over it. She then walked over to the skeleton and did her best to wrap it in the blanket without having to touch it with her hands. She looked like doing it had her close to tears, but when she had it wrapped up she managed to calm herself slightly. At least enough to start rinsing out a teapot that was on top of a small gas stove that was built into the wall behind the bar and next to the rather large collection liquor cabinets with the sink directly next to it. By the time she had it set up she ducked down below the bar to hide the fact that she had gotten close to crying again. Until now she hadn't really accepted her friend as really gone, she had no magic capable of reviving the dead, either undead or otherwise but somehow she had hoped someone would come in who had. Maybe another vampire or a more powerful magic user then themselves, or maybe even they could have somehow gotten Cartesia to revive her, not that she had any real reason at the time or now for that matter to suspect that it was possible. It had been more of a hope, probably a slightly delusional one at best that had kept her from accepting her death. She sniffled slightly and wiped her face, doing hr best to compose herself before standing back up. "There are lots of teas, do...do you have a particular type you want?"It was too much to hope no one noticed she had just cried a bit, but hopefully no one would comment on it. When Azazel looked at her and was going to come over to comfort her a bit she motioned for him to stay where he was. "I'll be fine." She was embarrassed at having cried in public, Azazel hugging her while certainly comforting would be just as embarrassing.

Gilrin Cheval had grown very silent.

Maybe she was lost in the thoughts of what she was giving up in her last world, or the revelations of the lycan. Either way, gray orbs finally blinked as the question of tea arose. The girl was completely oblivious to Airi's emotional struggle and her lips parted as she was a tad dazed. "Anything floral," she answered glancing over to the man.

"Is it really that bad for you to be locked away here?" Her voice was directed to him, and though the question was insensitive, her interesting features and tone showed concern. There really wasn't much she could do to help considering her fate was sealed all the same. At least for now. Something in her subconscious reminding her what the boy had just spoke of as means of escape. "I mean now we have nothing more to lose right?" At this she glanced downward, thinking hard about her final statement.

Distinct Werewolf

He stifled a shudder. If he had known that was where the tea was, he would have held his tongue. His gaze lingered elsewhere respectively as Airi handled the corpse, and he even bowed his head. Although it couldn't help but to be wondered- if there was no access to the outside world, where would they put it? It is impossible to bury it, right? The man would have inquired about this, if it weren't such an insensitive time.

"Um. Whatever you have most handy will do...floral is fine for me as well." He murmured. Her tears and the blanketed remains of Lauren sobered his recent hysteria. Just moments ago they seemed like smiling captors- but now, it was easier to see that he- nor any of the other recently captured- were alone here.

Curtis took a seat at one of the round tables. It seemed eerily quiet to him, until Gilrin's question. He smiled as he considered it.
"Bad for me? Being locked away?" He scoffed, amused once more. "Depends on how good the rooms are!" He joked, avoiding a serious answer to spare the moment. A nice conversation seemed too pleasant to ruin by complaints and worries.

~~~~~ Airi sighed again and dragged the blanket and its content across the room to the the wall with the massive fireplace. She paused as though considering not doing what by now had become obvious she was about to do, she had lifted the blanket over the rail and before she could change her mind a bit of the flame licked at the blanket catching it on fire. She quickly let go of it, letting it tumble down. Unexpectedly it kept falling, far enough down that there was no noticeable noise when it hit he bottom of wherever it had landed. The garden in the back greenhouse was often used to grow fresh food, which was hard to come by. The Inn had a large stock of dried and preserved foods but fresh food was hard to come by, and most people did not like the idea of food grown in dirt filled with corpses. "That's what we do with people who die inside.." Azazel explained awkwardly. "It's the only way to keep the bodies out of the way I guess. It's hot enough to burn everything up.." Azazel smiled slightly at Curtis's attempt to lighten the mood, even Airi brightened up slightly. "Most of them are rather nice." He answered honestly. "Some of the rooms are sort of dangerous but they are all marked with lots of red marks all over them." He did not add that he and Airi were planning to take what as far as they knew was the nicest room in the place now that no one else knew better. "We can help you find a nice one that suits your tastes." Airi finally spoke up again, she did not really sound happy again but she sounded less depressed. Having the body gone made things considerably less scary to her, and while she missed her friend she had already had a good amount of time to be used to her loss by now; even if she hadn't fully accepted it before.
Gil laughed at his joke with a funny sort of chuckle, like she had never made the sound before. A little awkward but she showed no embarrassment.
Her attention turned back to the children. Though morbid, their logic was sound and the equine sensed asking about them might be more useful than knowing about this place. "It seems like you two have been here a long time..." Though a flat statement, she held a query filled tone. Shifty eyed, the white haired woman glanced back at Curtis and then the pair. A meager division growing between them.
Distinct Werewolf
He grinned, genuinely content that the strange creature, Gilrin, found pleasure in his comment. It is always better to be stuck in bad situations with people with good senses of humor.
"Haha..." Curtis laughed nervously. Their explanation of some of the rooms as 'dangerous' almost didn't surprise him. He imagined walking into the wrong room, and there would be a trap door. Or maybe closing walls, with spikes embedded. Nightmarish things that could seem plausible judging from everything he has heard about this house thus far. "You two sure...um," He was trying to come up with the best wording. His eloquence escaped him. "Know how to keep up an excellent atmosphere for this place." He was mostly referencing the body 'pyre' and foreboding marked doors. At least they weren't grinning again, as they explained?
"But one that suits my tastes, you say?" He wondered what they could interpret his tastes to be. But as Gilrin was implying, they did know the place better, as it would seem.
"I would enjoy that."
They were glad the the woman seemed a bit more calm now, even to the point of laughter apparently. A good change from the panic from before, they did not find anything odd about the laugh however, they were used to strange customs by now and if the laugh was a little different then they were used to they simply dismissed it as an irreverent cultural difference. when she questioned how long they had been here their heads simultaneously tilted in thought. Time was a relative term units of time even more so. Hopefully both of them used similar enough measurements of time for them to explain it. "Perhaps we are over thinking it." Airi said pointedly to Azazel, who nodded in agreement. Most worlds they had met people from had a year that was close in length to any other given world. "Close to three quarters of an average year." Azazel explained. "We were alone for roughly a third of that time." He supposed that would just raise further questions but it was the truth.
Both twins raised eyebrows at the 'compliment' Azazel felt the need to explain more. "We did not do any of the warnings, they were all there long before we arrived." They had not exactly always heeded the warning on the doors but they did have to agree about the dangers present in most of them. "We'll let you decide, we'll just show you around to some of the nicer ones, the offer is for everyone of course."
Might as well follow the lead of the wolf. Though, Gilrin would prefer to be sleeping outside, or in the greenhouse even. Much more fitting for the girl.
She nodded her head at their hosts, agreeing to tag along on the tour and understanding their explanation. "Where are you both from? How do you know the house can be bribed?" Her questions probed at them a little. In no way did Gil want to be rude, that was far from her nature, but inquiring minds wanted to know. After all, if there were ways of escape that they knew about, why were they cooped up in here still?
It seemed her calmness had turned to steady questioning. Luckily, Curtis seemed more interested in picking a room, letting her do most of the asking.
Distinct Werewolf
"Warnings from people before you?" He wondered how old the house was, or just how many people have died here. But he held those questions at bay, for another time. He didn't want to worry about anything spooky in his room just yet. And he prayed that there weren't anymore conveniently forgotten corpses laying about...
This prompted him to stand, and wander a bit towards the stairs, meanwhile listening to Gilrin's questions.
He chuckled at the notion of bribing the house. Not the money in his pocket, of course, but what could it want? Souls? He hid his grin while looking up the stairs, staring at the entry to the second floor.
