At this point the flamelurkers practically tumbled over each other, Panic had made its mark upon the creatures and since they had no allies on the field, not even their own kind, it bolstered the insecurities of the tortured creatures all the more, adding to their confusion. Jostled aside by their more brutish oni comrades, many began to lumber away from Amano in particular as they attempted to gain some distance, forming a small, somewhat slow-moving stampede directly toward where the Oracle and his alter ego remained. Seeing that Panic was still unconstrained, the closer the creatures became, the more erratic their behaviour seemed, some randomly pushing at their fellows, resulting in several of the creatures being pushed into one of the many deep chasms littered about the divides in the once pristine garden.
Closing in rapidly on the general vicinity where Aristide continued to fumble with the unsealed chest, the flames about the fire demons were already completely out of their control, many completely aflame and scorching anything close-by with hell-fire as their own forms smouldered and burned with innumerable unpleasant howls. The stampede of flamelurkers may not have been too great in number, as some were still randomly scattered amongst the oni, but their size and their chaotic movement made them even more hard to predict than the oni as they closed in on Artistide's position, amber and blue flames randomly expanding in multiple directions.
Met with overhead artillery, the sweeping effect across the battlefield of Panic's curse and now unsettlingly accurate high-powered gunshots from afar, the collective rage of the oni had given way to mindless retaliation, entirely focussed on self-preservation. Whether this was preferable to their infuriated rampage beforehand was yet to be seen, but it did appear to cause more conflicts between the oni themselves as they fought to get around each other besides attacking any inhabitant of the inn they encountered.
The oni attempting to gather around Isshu and Himiko were met with a level of retaliation they clearly did not expect as many were easily torn apart and forced to explode at the sheer concentration of the power Isshu had managed to channel through her staff. The oni in Himiko's path were largely felled by the elderly woman's efforts or more of the well-placed bullets shot from another location; Himiko's finishing strikes and barriers seeing to the creatures maintaining their distance as she progressed toward the succubus. By the time the elderly woman had regrouped and the succubus was calmed, the oni's numbers about them had significantly dropped, although many had sealed their own fate as much like the flamelurkers, those most impacted by Panic's curse had managed to tumble into the nearest void ripped into the earth in their efforts to escape. The fire oni still lurking in the vicinity were in the greatest number at this point as many of the electrical variety had been exploded to pieces from Isshu's previous attack, leaving a large group of the flame manipulating creatures tearing into each other and charging toward Isshu, Himiko and the succubus, the slower earth oni taking the rear of their charge.
The smaller group of oni encircling Amano were disquieted by the ease in which the feline tore into their number, although only the flame oni seemed exceptionally intimidated; whether this was due to Panic's curse or their own concerns was unclear however as the electric oni in their number took the lead instead. Charging a surge of electricity and directing it to flow across their bodies, sparking and crackling loudly, the electrical oni began expelling a series of lightning bolts toward the feline as the remaining earth oni amongst them began to swing their fists at the ground in an attempt to crush Amano.
Simply chuckling as the large black feline paced about him in a large circle, Rudra simply lay in place, yet still making no effort to move in spite of his bones making another painful series of cracks under the weight of the jorogumo pinning him to the ground. Although when the jorogumo reacted to his earlier comment with a slap, Rudra found an opening via her slight movement to allow him retaliation, to which he quickly pivoted his head sideward and blindly snapped at the larger being, pleasantly surprised to find his fangs found their mark and a yelp indicating some damage was done. This may have granted him movement, but it was short-lived as a bright flash indicated the black feline’s spell had succeeded, resulting in Rudra vanishing from sight in an instant.
Nirriti could sense the frustration in her opponent, moreover the nekojin’s comment increased her chaotic excitement all the more, to which the kitsune began to tremble, an unusual energy starting to shroud her form but she still made no attempt to evade even when the the searing heat of black flames began to scorch her tongue and burn away the thin fur covering her body. Once the flame-doused vortex formed and she felt herself being flung into its depths with the nekojin close behind, Nirriti oddly seemed to relax, to welcome this outcome as she vanished from sight. When the nekojin remerged she was indeed unscathed and quite alone with the exception of Martin, or was she?
Hovering between numerous destinations, the kitsune were met by a single crimson entity, one already stepping between dimensions and all too familiar. Fools. How fortunate for you I’m here, your standards have indeed slipped to be trapped so easily in a dimensional rift...You have the energy you need to finish your opponents, now stop toying with them and get on with it...With that the skeletal being phased out once again, leaving the kitsune hovering in the void; although a route out of limbo was now present. With that the kitsune gave a mutual nod and began to expel the energies they had collected, their forms starting to blur in the process as they ran toward the opening.
The air about both Martin and Yunique grew heavy, weighted with a presence unseen, although both kitsune did not reappear, the energy they produced had still remained, as though never leaving the field. If anything, their residual energy signatures appeared to be increasing, growing more distorted like a bizarre echo until a section of space itself seemed to tear apart, an unstable and malformed portal forming close-by, but yet still some distance from the main building. Several seconds later a huge multi-tailed bipedal form leapt out of the portal, paws clad in skeletal armour thudding on the ground as it landed heavily on the scorched and rain-saturated earth. Turning its head, gnashing multiple fangs in the process and surveying both Yunique and Martin with glowing eyes, the true and complete form of the demon kitsune gave a manic chuckle before charging toward them at high-speed, chanting to himself with unsettling enthusiasm.
“Diediedie...”
Surging forward with unfathomable speed, the Myritu seemed to vanish for an instant before reappearing above Martin, pouncing down upon him hard and crushing him down into the ground, yet still cackling like a hyena as he leapt up into the air once again at high speed and swiped at Yunique with its elongated claws before his movement shifted wildly once again. Upon closer examination it seemed the skeletal armor the kitsune wore was identical to its own body structure, albeit a very different one to how the two smaller kitsune appeared; it looked as though it was wearing the skeleton of an identical beast to itself...
An unstable and wildly fluctuating aura blazed about the creature as it landed upon the ground once again, time seeming to slow as his tails whipped the air, jaws opening wide.
“Diediedie...”
Once the scent of panic reached his nostrils the manic energy about the beast seemed to surge all the more as Myritu began to spit orbs of unstable energy in all directions from his jaws. Not caring to aim directly at his opponents, Myritu simply reacted to anything that moved as some oni and trees nearby were erased from existence upon contact with some of the energy he expelled, whereas others were blasted apart or sealed in crystal. With all the varied energy Myritu collected to fuel his transformation, alongside his own considerable powers, the properties each of his attacks held seemed random, as did his manic behaviour.
The lightning fired by Nolan seared a jagged line into the trail of emerging molten rock steadily moving along the ground toward him. A low inhuman hiss could be heard, although it could easily have been the sound of numerous dead oni corpses nearby collapsing into a molten mass from the sheer heat of the creature lurking beneath the ground. All moisture in close proximity to the unseen creature boiled away as any unfortunate oni close-unwillingly demonstrated, bursting into flame and quite literally melting with pained howls. The protruding bone-like structure jutting from the earth much like a shark fin was clipped by the lightning also, leaving a clear burn along its entirety and some bone even snapped away, although it was at this point the form it was connected to began to slowly rise from the ground with a rumbling growl. It seemed the fin-like structure was infact part of a pincer-like leg, presently followed by another and then several more as an unpleasantly familiar lava spider hoisted its massive tarantula-like body from the ground. It seemed bigger this time; the instance on the porch some days previous saw it with considerable size but now it loomed at least two stories high, instantly incinerating any remaining vegetation about its numerous legs as it regained its bearings.
Numerous eyes swivelling about and gauging her surroundings, Enshoku’s attention quickly came to rest upon the building ahead and then the necromancer as he finished his lightning attack, to which she gave an irritated snarl. Batting away some of the malformed skeletal flesh creatures Nolan summoned with one of her legs, her heavily armoured form continued toward him; the building was her goal but anything that lay in her path was fair game, to which the lava seeming to hold her form together began to erupt in small flames.
“You are in my way, necromancer.”
Lifting one of the larger skeletal creatures in one of her pincer-like front legs, retaining it for some seconds until it was doused in the hellfire that sprung up about her form, Enshoku tossed it toward the necromancer. Although it was more of a calculated move, keeping her guard up as she continued her approach at a moderate distance, a waft of what could only have been concentrated panic flowing through the heated air, to which she gave an roar of amusement, particularly when several oni nearby began milling about as a result and were brought down by the necromancer’s skeletal creatures.
