This solid wooden building rises into sight, an imposing feat of construction that defies all rational supposition. It is smack in the middle of a forest clearing with only some short paths which lead to and from the Haven. What appears to be a single building is actually a four separate wings that encircle a small garden area. The main wing - where the main entrance is - is always well lit and emanating an aura of welcoming. The remaining wings are lit or darkened depending on whether the lodgings are filled or not.

The folk who visit and reside in the Haven are a mixed lot - anyone from covens of witches to packs of werewolves have sought it for shelter or a gathering place. Humans and Immortals alike have dined side by side. Chances are unless you are the only one of your species, these wooden halls have seen something like you.

The Haven is set up into four buildings, centered about a central garden area. The buildings are arranged in a square, with covered walkways going from the ends of each building.

The Northern building is the Main building, which houses the Dining Room, the Main Lobby, and the Tavern. There are exits to the gardens from the both the Dining Room and the Tavern, as well as from the stairwells which lead to the Staff Offices upstairs. Access to the remaining three wings can be done via the gardens or through short covered walkways.

The East, West, and South building house the room where visitors can stay for any span of time from one night to eternity. In general, those looking for a longer stay prefer the Southern building, as its suites are larger and there is a small pub-like dining area in the basement.

There are a few permanent staff who have always worked at the Haven and most likely always will. Their abbreviated profiles are shown here:


Assistant Manager:

Rinoa Nightwing
Short, spunky, and with a knack to tame the toughest of dragons,
Rinoa has been working at the Haven so as to give her dragon,
Angelo, someplace safe to hunt and live while she adjusts to living
near strange and different people. She hates working long shifts, but
she adores talking to people. She works hard and earnestly wants
people to have a good stay at the Haven.

Assistant Manager:

Japhrimel
With eyes colder than ice and a ribcage filled with a
silent heart Japhrimel helps run the establishment with firm authority
and no remorse for anything less than perfect. He stands an intimidating
6ft, broad shoulders and a lean muscled stature. The ancient vampire is
not one to mess with. This is his home and you will have respect.


Players may apply to be staff ((by sending Vampadd1ct a PM entitled: "Hire Me!" )) after making their introductory post to the Haven. Please be aware that if you are not around for an extended period of time without any explanation, you will be removed from staff.

-Aria Kreet

Aria is a hot-headed, kind, stubborn, outgoing and loyal witch who found her way to the fine establishment. Trying to get on her feet and train to soon open her own shop, Aria works as a member of the lodging staff in the Hotel getting whatever work she could get done. Whether that be helping at the front desk, helping customers, or even being a substitute for a co-worker who is unable to work, she is there.
Being a risk-taker and adventurous, Aria is always practicing spells, brews, and other charms and enchantments during her open time or even when times are slow. Always eager to meet new people and learn, she is always curious sometimes peeking her nose into other business she shouldn't.

Damien works under Japhrimel as a bouncer and will supply his master with
blood when required. He is extremely loyal to his master and protects his home
with pride. Damo has been trained specifically for killing. He's a hulk of a werewolf
with big attitude. However there is a fun and playful side to Damo and if you are
lucky enough then you may get to see it. But I must warn you: do not mess with
the wolf or his pack.

A forest demon of sorts, one might call her an earth elemental. Here friends call
her the hippy. She spends her days working in the gardens and taking care of all life
forms which cover the beautiful landscape surrounding Blackmoore. She's easy
to approach with a calm and happy aura people find infectious.

Rinoa sat at the front desk, watching the clock on it tick by slowly. She'd been on desk duty for the entire day and it was so close to lockup time that she could scream. The entire day had basically been a wash, with no one checking in or out all day. If her boss didn't have the habit of checking on the front desk every evening, she would have just said "screw it" and went to South Wing pub for the night.

But she was a dutiful employee and would wait the last few minutes, eyes scouring the front lawn through the wide entrance windows for any sight of potential visitors.

Nela had been walking for a while. Trying to escape those who were following her. Well not following her per say, more like watching her and making sure she did nothing foolish. Her keepers. She scowled at the thought of her overprotective adoptive mother. The woman did not know when to let her experience the world. She watched the same white doves that had been following her for about 4-5 days now. The suitcase she carried had a few pairs of cloths and maybe more books than clothes. But the weight of her luggage didn't bother her. She had some muscle from carrying loads of books to her little hiding spot over the years.
In the distance she saw what looked to be a well lit building. The air around here was appealing and it seemed to have invited her in. She decided to stop here for the night. She was sure that if she didn't, something might eat her for sure this time. Or worse, rob her for what she's worth. Having that she carried quite the amount with her.
She felt herself get more tired as she neared. "I wonder if they are open..." she said softly to herself. Nearing the building Nela had stopped every now and then to marvel in it. She quite liked the looks of it. However it looked sort of small.

Pulling open the door Nela peered in before fully entering. She looked around until she was met with the sight of a girl at the counter. "Ah! hello!" she said as she walked up to her. "I was wondering if I could book a room? Or rent one?" Nela asked.

Rinoa sat up when she saw the woman start up the walkway. She gathered up her pens and looked about for where she had put the check-in forms. Tugging one out of the pile, she smiled cheerfully as the new visitor came in. "Welcome to Darkmoore Haven!" she called out merrily.

When she stepped up to the counter, Rinoa slid the form across, along with a slim metal pen. "Of course we do. There are long-term rooms in the Southern Wing or shorter term rooms in the Eastern and Western Wings. How long are you planning on staying with us?"

Nela smiled at the girl who passed her a slip towards her to fill out. Taking the pen she thought about it for a while. "hm... Lets see. How about a month or two? yes, lets go with two. I would like a room for two months! I can pay in advance!" she said still smiling. This was exciting. She never stayed in one place for too long ever since she left. It was always on the go. Praying she could get as far away from her mother as fast as she could.

The girl seemed to be quite chipper, which was nice compared to some of the folk who passed through the Haven. Rinoa carefully scanned the master check-in book, making sure that the room she was assigning the girl to wouldn't have another guest booked somewhere in that region. "I can put you in the South wing for two months with no problem. And payment doesn't have to be in full, we just need to have collateral of some sort. A credit card or something of value would be fine," Rinoa replied cheerfully, always the perfect image of customer service.

"Not that we wouldn't take full payment," she added helpfully.

Mikoto had not really been traveling for very long, but of course when one traveled by air, it never took to long to get where you were going. While airborne he was nothing but a glimmer of light, streaking through the sky, like a comet with a tail of pure fire. He landed however, just outside the door of the inn, and he appeared nothing more than a human male, of course this was nothing but a glamor of magic meant to make him fit in when on the ground. Well all but his eyes, the iris's of this man gleamed and danced with orange, red, crimson, and white, as though his skin were holding back nothing but a raging inferno from busting out into the world.

He placed a hand on the door and made his way through, hoping that at this time of night, someone was in to help him on his journey. He needed both food and drink, as well as a possible rest after he acquired the first few.

Rinoa almost missed the newcomer's arrival. His sudden appearance concerned her, but then again, plenty of magic-users appeared out of the blue on the doorstep to the Haven. When he made his way inside, she gave a pleasant, "Welcome to Blackmoore Haven!" and waited for him to approach the desk.

"If you're looking for lodging, you can fill out one of these forms and we'll set you up with a room, no problem, Sir," Rinoa added chipperly. "Or if you're looking for a meal or drink, we have a restaurant and full bar in this building." It was looking like tonight might be more exciting than she'd thought.
