Welcome to Gaia! ::

Yukai had an almost amused chuckle at the original way the woman continued the attack. Well that's how they worked wasn't it? So he had to give it points for even being able to walk. That was a balancing act and a half that.

The gun shot probably meant the thing behind the door was taken care of, and there wasn't the sound of any more shufflers upstairs, so it was time to wrap this up.

The cat darted behind the woman zombie, to avoid teeth and arms and what nots, and grabbed at both sides of her head. Aiming to give a good twist and be done.
---

"Well..." The Doc started and sighed before going on. "That didn't go so bad."

He really couldn't say much else. Be a bit ill feeling perhaps and tremble a bit. But that was hidden away easy enough. He could almost fool himself into feeling fine.

"Ah... So I take it you are a good shot then." Nodding his head to Mariner and walking over to the body of the android.
Ramza looked over hesitantly, everyone over here seemed to be quietly stunned, he supposed this sort of thing wasn't good for morale. He wasn't sure he wanted to look at the body, but he took a hesitant glance. Walking over quietly, and in lieu of not being able to close her eyes, he brushed some synthetic hair of hers over her eyes.

With that, he got up slowly, and turned to look at the room she came out of, avoiding knocked over tools and looking around. A medical bed sort of thing with white torn paper on it, some cabinets, and a... body. Looked like an old doctor, but there was a bit of pipe lodged into the cranium, it wasn't about to get up.

"There's some sort of Healer's room here, or something, it's got a long gone body in it, but it looks like a dead end."

Stepping out and holding the candle he had up in case Mariner, Yukai, the Doc, or Demyx wanted anything from that. At least they got fair warning of how smart some of the enemies could be. Speaking of Yukai... he heard a bit of a sickening snap from his direction.

"How're the zombies, Yukai?"

The zombie's head snapped backwards alright, looking at him and making biting motions while the rest of the body went limp hanging from it. Trying to lick of bite his wrists since they were the closest things within reach, at least while it had a moment of function, until the blood and other fluids in it's brain stopped cycling.

...Well, in all the zombie video games Axel used to like to play so much, the most valuable kind of salvage was medical supplies. Granted, this was emphatically not a video game (though Demyx wished it was, mostly so he could stop playing and go back to the real world now), but there still just might be bandages or something else worth salvaging. "I want to check it out, jusht in cashe," Demyx said, glancing nervously at Ramza. Well, he was the one with the candle, after all.

"At that range, Doc, I would have had to try to miss," Mariner said, chambering another round before putting the gun away. "But yes, I do pride myself on being a good shot at more challenging distances."

Yukai dropped the head, as soon as he heard a snap, with a grin and then checked over his wrists and hands for any sort of scrape.

"Eh. Pretty fun." He called back in reply, flipping his hands to make sure both sides were fine. He'd want to wipe them off before eating or something but other wise everything was good. He only glanced back once while walking to the group, checking hopefully for any sort of stirring.

He wandered back to the group and looked down at the still body of the android.

"Huh."
---

"She must have been cut off from Putica." The Doc mumbled quietly and then sighed again. At least there weren't any clocks yet. He wasn't sure he could deal with clocks. He looked into the room only briefly and just let Demyx gather what he could. Frankly, he wasn't sure how much he trusted the medicine here. Even after having a fair trail with them.

"Well I suppose that's a good skill to have. Given the location. Suppose you could do that from the sky?"
"We're not off to a bad start at all... I think. Yukai, check them for keys or anything, okay? If there is a locked bedroom or anything, we could use it to our advantage, right?"

The boy smiled and waved in the candlelight, and nodded his head to Mariner and the Doc. Actually, while he was at it... Ramza pulled out another candle stub, lighting it and forcing it into the Doc's hands. Smiling at him, since he didn't want to leave them in the dark too long.

"Alright, lets give it a look then."

That all said and done, he stepped inside the medical room again, stepping around to look about for a second time, but what would probably interest Demyx most was a broken cabinet filled with a few bottles of pills and liquids, some just laying open, others safe. The drawers below probably had some things too, but Ramza would just automatically try to illuminate anything Demyx went for.

"I don't understand most of these things... but what would be handy? Bandages, wound cleaners, maybe some painkillers, oh! Maybe something for stitches, something tells me someone will need that by the end of this."

Yukai might hear some shuffling upstairs, but no more zombies found where the stairs started, nor learned what gravity was.

Demyx was well aware that this was real life and not a video game, and taking any old pills you found lying around was more likely to poison you than heal you. With that in mind, he left the pills alone, and started searching the cupboards and drawers for more practical goods - bandages, intact bottles of rubbing alcohol, sutures, needles...stuff that was more likely to actually be useful. Maybe even rubber gloves would come in handy, given what sort of messes they were apt to run into.

"Of course I could," Mariner sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Unfortunately, the sky is just a touch inaccessible at the moment. Because really, I would much rather be there right now anyway."

"Alright!"

Yukai saluted and bound back over to where he left the bodies. His ears detected sounds of movement past the stairs some where, but nothing immediately close.

A quick pat down of the unmoving dead revealed one fancy black wallet from the man and various bits of jewelry from the woman. He probably didn't need them, but he grabbed them anyways.

With that settled dragged the bodies to the side of the hall, being a tad careful and quiet about it, and then flipped the wallet open to look through it.

A bunch of plastic cards nestled in it, one with the a picture of the man and some really useless facts as far as Yukai could tell. And to the side of that, was a picture of the man patting the head of a dog. The thief grinned recognizing the scaled canine breed.
---

The Doc held the candle stub out so that it was illuminating around him, and not blinding him.

"A bit bumpy of a start maybe." He said, resolutely not going into the room with the dead doctor. He could just look over what was brought out if they wanted him to. But the light was really... He was enjoying the candle's illumination even if it was a giant target.

"Well this lead outside. So at least one of us can be safe until we need to go back underground."
Ramza waited patiently as the Demyx looked for the things he wanted, carefully lighting up the inside of the cupboard. There was at least a large box of plastic gloves, rubbing alcohol, and a nice convenient first aid kit with bandages, sutures, cotton swabs, a needle and a bottle neatly labeled 'Pain Killer' in a few of Sukairs most common languages, like Generic. Instructions were reverse side on the bottle, too.

Hearing Doc outside the door, he looked over his shoulder and replied.

"Outside? Do these stairs open directly outside? And what's the nearest building?"

More shuffling, some closer, and one hardy thud and the shaking of branches, as a zombie got stuck in a bush upstairs.

Demyx took everything, but only after checking the expiration date on the bottle of painkillers - short of toxic chemotherapy, there was no more dangerous class of medicine in the worlds, or a trickier. With some of them, two pills could be the difference between an inadequate dose and a fatal dose, and he didn't know what effect aging might have. On the other hand, it might be nice not to be in pain if it wasn't completely necessary.

"Outside? Oh, thank God," Mariner sighed, looking hopefully up the stairs. He was claustrophobic in here, more so with every passing minute, and the longer he stayed here, the more he'd give for a sight of blue sky and a breath of fresh air.

Yukai was looking up the stairs hopefully as well, but he was doing it for the noise. Actually that sounded like plant life getting into a polite argument with a zombie about how gravity works.

He shut the wallet and headed back to the group to let the guy who had been here figure it out.

"Here ya go Doc. Any of those useful?" Thrusting the wallet right at the black haired man with a grin and waiting with a causal air. He gave Mariner a tilted head. Maybe he was really like a bird. Didn't like to be cooped up.
--

"Yes they go right outside. Ah... Now that I think about it." He gave an apologetic shrug to Mariner and then replied the rest of the way to Ramza.

"It comes out right behind the building we need to get into."

He was examining the wallet and pulling the cards up to read them through. Card key, credit. Id. And... Oh my. Well there would be at least one more on the confirmed dead list.
"I think we've gotten everything we want here, right Demyx?"

Ramza asked, watching him look over the bottle of pills. The expiration date was put into Sukairian years, reading something like 03/03/315. Blinking, as Ramza recognized it as at least a year later in time. Leaning in close, and taking a moment before he could read the hard print of Yuite text.

"It expires next year."

He informed as concisely as possible, before slowly straightening up and hesitantly walking for the door, checking that Demyx was following. Since he was pretty sure they'd gotten most everything in the room, and it wasn't anything to sneeze at, since it was medical supplies of any kind, still clean, too.

"Alright, lets get going for Yukai and Mariner's sake, shall we?"

Demyx was briefly tempted to see if the dead man had any sort of ID in his pockets, or anything else that might be valuable, but...on second thought, he just wanted the hell out of there. "Not jusht zheir shake," he said as he put the pill bottle back in the first aid kit and closed it up to take along. Maybe they hadn't seen any actual zombies yet (except for Yukai's pair), but that didn't mean he wanted to linger at all.

Ɖαиcɛ Ɯαтɛя Ɖαиcɛ!
Yukai watched the Doctor pocket the wallet he had looted and raised an eye brow. But whatever, it wasn't like he could do much with the stuff from here anyways.

That aside.

"Woohoo!" Time ta get going! The cat laughed a little and turned on his heel to face down the hall. He looked over his shoulder expectantly, waiting nicely so that he could play extra flashlight to the candles.
---

"Yes, we really don't want this to take all day." The Doc gave a nervous laugh. "I'd hate to see what a stir crazy cat will do with feathers about."

He carefully slipped the scalpel into his sleeve and kept the candle held out. Looking towards Ramza questioningly, as he wasn't sure what was supposed to expire next year. At least he needn't feel bad about poor recollection of the area here, they had been in a bit of a hurry.
"Yeah."

Ramza nodded his head swiftly towards Demyx, and left the medical room feeling like there was something accomplished, something minor, but something. Nodding his head to Yukai and the Doc. Starting to head for the stairs after Yukai in particular, pace at an easy quiet walk. Just because the thought of making noise made him uneasy.

"Don't worry, If Yukai gets chicken on the mind, I'm sure he'd aim for a smaller less friendly target? Sorry, Mariner."

He chuckled lightly, but apologized to Mariner the same way he did when was talking about the Dragons of Sukair. It was kind of weird he'd adapted to say Sukair instead of 'my world', but at least it made him not sound like he was delusional.

Walking down the hall didn't have any more resulting encounters, and Ramza made some sort of effort to stay to the side, avoid the bodies of Yukai's 'friends', and not be sick.

The stairs didn't immediately show the moonlight, there was a platform between sets of stairs and signs that made it a little difficult to see. Ramza proceeded up the first set, but the moment he stepped on the second, a small series of growls from above alerted him to the fact the Zombies heard that.

"Get ready."

Demyx growled at the stairs, his tail twitching behind him, in response to the zombie growls from above. Mariner pulled his gun back out, but he couldn't see anything to aim at, only hear it. "Kind of them to at least give us an advance warning," he said as he carefully edged up the stairs, listening as much as watching for the zombies ahead. As tense as he was, he'd likely fire as soon as he saw a valid target, and then wish his gun was an automatic so it would instantly chamber another round.
