It sucks, but that's just the way it's going to be. There are two distinctly different bodies of work, and the fandom is full of a lot of very...spirited and opinionated people. XD That's what happens when you get a bunch of people together who feel very strongly about something, man. As a strong member of the 2003 camp, I appreciate opportunities to explain my stance. I'm a megafan, I've seen everything and read anything and have informed opinions that I enjoy debating!
I don't like unfounded arguments, granted. Nothing drives me more insane than the snot-nosed members of the Brotherhood camp that say only manga/Brotherhood is canon, though. ******** nothing.
It's interesting to know that the author had so much input for the 2003 series, and even a little shocking that she liked the ending.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who actually really liked the old series. Not that I dislike the new series/manga at all, I just appreciate all of the versions.
