It Depends on What FMA u r refering to Brotherhood FMANovel or FMA anime
Of course in all of them there are recinizeple similarities to bot Ed and Al But there are direrences In the Novel I Like ed and his rationality In the Anime Alphonse and his optimism
But brotherhood is like the in between so it hard to say but i lean more tword al.

Alphones, because he honestly has been through way more than Edward has with losing his whole body because of the mistakes him and his brother made where as Edward just lost a arm and a leg.
Alphonse was forced to live out his child hood in a suit of armor. Not a fun way to live your life I would have to say. Alphonse is also one of the sweetest characters and he is genuinly caring towards everyone.
