No, that's not what I'm saying. If it's the same story, meaning there isn't any significant difference between them, they are the same story. Now, I might be naive, but when something is translated, it should be the same, aside from maybe a few words that don't work in the language being translated to. Altering the plot or details makes it a different story.

I can't say I've ever been in the habit of comparing translations, the only books I've read in more than one language were The Stranger by Albert Camus and The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende. sweatdrop As I said, though, call me naive for it, I just stick to the language I know best. xd
