The couple of times that I met this kid, he was like the brightest and most optimistic person you could ever imagine. To be that cheerful and know that you're going to die, that takes so much strength.

But him dying at such a young age is just reinforcing the idea that people die too young and before their time. I guess it just makes me worried about all of the people I care about.
Omg look! A shiny new subject change!!

Kay and Ogin have the same blouseskirtthing on.
Yes. And shiny fairy winds. And terra twist hair, just different colors.
♥ R.I.P. Brandon Elam ♥

He died last night. But he didn't die in pain. So I'm happy for him.
That's so sad to hear.

I think it is the worst when people die so young... but now all we can do is remember him. Life the rest of our lives for him.
Yeah.

He will definitely be remembered. He was such a happy person. Put hope in the hearts of a lot of people.
No one can forget that.
Exactly.

He kind of reminds me of Bailey from the Book " The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." She was dying of leukemia at the age of twelve, but it didn't make her sad. She lived her life to the fullest. She wanted to get to know everyone, to be everyones friend. She even said she wasn't afraid of dying, just more afraid of time. That she wouldn't have enough tie to do everything she wanted.

I know this is from a book and is a fictional character. But if I person can be that strong too, it's a great thing. I hate how we all complain, when the people who have it worse, never complain at all. It's just not fair.
I've seen the movie for that book. Yeah... She reminds me a lot of Brandon. He's had cancer since he was 13. He's been fighting it for three years.
In other news, the ENDA bill has a very good chance of passing. However, they've cut out gender identity from the bill, which means it won't protect transgender people.

Go here and please send a message to the Congressional leaders, asking them to include gender identity.

We want a fully-inclusive bill for the GLBT community. It's not fair for the transgender population to need to continue to fight for protection against employment discrimination. They deserve to be protected by ENDA too.
My condolences again...

About ENDA, glad I'm not the only one who knew about this matter.
I've been keeping track. I'm on the mailing list to be sent all news concerning the Human Rights Campaign.

Did you hear about the Matthew Sheppard Act passing? There's a chance it could get turned down the second time through, or our a** of a president could veto the bill. I'd hope he's not stupid enough to do that, but he might.

I hope both of these bills get passed completely with their original context. No one deserves to be left out.

But yeah, definitely send e-mails. Or call. Or something to notify the Congressional leaders. We have a delay to the end of the month to send as much as we can to ask that ENDA include gender identity.
