How'd he catch the people to eat them if he was blind?

When you're blind, your other senses become much more... sensitive.
'S why rats sniff around all the time when they're exploring; their vision is even worse than mine.
EDIT: And as Bryce mentioned, there are feats/skills/whatever in DnD that would more than compensate for a lack of sight.

@Nems: UHHH, you actually have some of the Lovecraft equipment?!
What level are you?
It's like an RPG where you have complete controle over your character. They can be whoever you want and do whatever you want pretty much. You can open all the doors! Unless they're locked >.> but you get what I mean.

@ Doktor: Yeah, I know your other senses get stronger, but I would still think it would be difficult without sight... I mean if the person stands still out side of your reach you can't hear them or feel them and I don't think humans can sniff them out... Or if they're running in a forest how's the blind person going to avoid the trees?
And if the doors are locked, you can pick the lock or just bash them in!
Or use a Knock spell.

You'd be surprised how well you can smell with your eyes closed.
Or maybe I'm just weird; Mom frequently has me sniff things to see if they're spoiled.
And you can feel for objects. Obviously it's easier if you have whiskers or something (that's what whiskers are, after all, sensory organs), but arms work well too. And you don't necessarily have to catch running prey... just wear it out or corner it somewhere.
If they live, they have a heartbeat, if it has a heartbeat, it can be heard, it can be felt through the ground, if it draws breath it can be heard, if it makes any movement at all it can be felt through the air.

There's also a psionic ability that lets you smell sight xD

'scusez-moi, but LOLWUUUUT?! I don't get it. Like, at all.
Ooh, I completely forgot about vibrations.
And, you know, it is DnD. There are plenty of ways to make your life easier.

In IWDII, I've got a Drow ranger. Being accustomed to living in the dark, he's more or less blind during the day, unless we're inside. This results in a penalty when he's trying to hit an enemy, but I gave him the Blind Fight feat, and voila! Problem solved.
You can use one sense to use another sense.
Like you could feel sound, or see taste, or smell sight
@ Bryce: That sounds weird...

I guess I'm just thinking too realisticlly, because I don't think it's possible for a human to hear another's heart beat from a distance... But whatever.
I'm going to go play in the snow before it gets to dark to! You all enjoy and I"ll be back!!
35, and it's level 40 gear. ;o;
Today isht mein birfday.
There was a blind character in Ruroni Kenshin who could tell where someone was, what they were feeling, and could anticipate when they would move based on the pace of their heart.

Howdy Mega! *Attacks with a solid bronze beaver*
@Ev: There's actually a condition called synesthesia that has the same effect.
It showed up in a classic sci-fi novel called Tyger Tyger, or The Stars My Destination.
good night everybody
getting off
<3
@Nems: Whoa, you levelled up a LOT faster than I did.
Of course, I play a little erratically. >.>

Night-night, Shira.
I spend far too much time on the internet.

Happy birthday, Mega!
