This is now the Official Fan-thread! X3 There used to be an official thread, but the owner was too busy to update and run it, so I took over 8D
Literacy is vital in this thread!. Several of my fellow Twilight buddies agree that the last thread had too many rampant (and quite annoying @__@) fans.
Given, this is a fan thread..- however, intellectual discussion (sprinkled with random fan girl/boy segments xD) is better than four pages of "OMGZ EDWARD LOL! HE'S HOTTTTT~~!~!!@@@##"

Believe it or not, there is a Twilight movie being made. It's scheduled (according to IMDb.com) to go into theaters December 12th, 2008 NOVEMBER 21. To find out more about the cast and crew, visit Stephenie's website (link is provided in posts to come).

Hey guys! Many of you may already know by now, but because the HP movies' release was pushed forward to July of 2009, the Twilight movie's release was bumped up to November 21, 2008!! x____FAQ: About the movie!
Because a lot of new people have been coming in the thread and asking questions that have been discussed or answered over and over again, I’m going to put an FAQ here, that answers questions exclusively about the movie. Hope this helps some of you frustrated people out there!

Q: When will the movie be out in the U.S?
A: According to Twilight’s IMDb.com page, the movie is set to be out December 12, 2008 NOVEMBER 21, 2008. I know that may sound too early for a lot of you, but that’s what I read. I’ve also read that a lot of the times, producers will get ambitious, and set dates too early, when in fact they need more time; thus they end up pushing them forward a couple weeks. Sometimes, they even finish early and move the date up some. But all in all, December is a very tentative date at this time, seeing as that they’ve just started production; so I will update everyone when I get more info on the subject.
Q: What scenes are they cutting out of the movie?
A: Right now, I honestly cannot tell you. All I can say is to trust the writers and producers to include all the important scenes of our beloved books. Right now, I only know that scenes in the school will be shot (because they are casting extras for “Highschool” scenes) and I know they will be doing scenes in a forest according to an interview with Kristen Stewart (which you can read after clicking the link in the beginning of this post)
Q: They screwed it up! They said that James, Laurent and Victoria were mortal enemies of the Cullen’s, when in the book they’re just wandering vampires. Whyyy did they screw it up??
A: Well, the movie script is different from the book because it is an adaptation of the novel. Twilight the Movie is based on Twilight--it's not going to be verbatim.
Movies and books are two different mediums. Movies are visual and fast; books rely on imagination and can take their time getting to the point. Inner monologues and subtle body language are very hard to pull off in a movie, so they make it dialogue or cut it out entirely. Characters that are expendable are combined and/or cut. Sometimes to create conflict or suspense, movies have to take things a step up for it to be exciting or enjoyable. This could be why they changed to roles of the “evil” vampires. (Part of this answer was from IMDb's FAQ section)
Q: I heard Bella’s friends are different ethnicities! Why? That’s not how I picture them…
A: Some characters look different from their book counterparts. This is because casting directors want to see an even representation of races and ethnicities on screen--and the viewers want to see people who look like them, too. If a character's skin tone doesn't have a major effect on their position in the book, chances are it's subject to change. (This answer was from IMDb's FAQ section)
Q: I heard a lot about people being able to read the script? Where can I find this?
A: You can’t find the script anywhere; the things you’re hearing about are the “sides” or small clips of dialogue from each character. These are not exact yet, and they may be modified later. If you want these sides, PM me (Psychotic Napkin) and I’ll try and get them to you. Psychotic Napkin no longer has access to the sides. Sorry guys! gonk
Q: What is the movie going to be rated?
A: She said (Stephenie Meyer) that when she sold the rights, she did have ONE special provision, and that was a guaranteed PG-13 rating. (This answer was from IMBd's FAQ section)
Q: WHY IS KRISTEN SO UGLY? SHE DOESN’T LOOK LIKE BELLA! NONE OF THE CHARACTERS LOOK LIKE I IMAGINE THEM!?!1 THEY SUCKZ!111?!!111?
A: =__=; -sigh- I’m really am sorry that the actors don’t fit your mental image of the characters; however, in the words of Stephenie Meyer: “’Of course she doesn't!’ Bella is a fictional character, and she looks different to everyone. As is the same with every actor who will be cast in the next few months, no one is going to match up with your mental picture exactly—or mine. The thing to hope for is a really great actor who can make us believe she is Bella (or Alice or so forth) for roughly two hours.”

You’re not going to make the actors any more beautiful/captivating etc, with all your whining and complaining. If you have a specific reason why you do not like a certain actor/tress fine; but whining doesn’t get anyone anywhere. If you don’t like the cast? Fine. Don’t see the movie. But don’t ruin if for others with your sob stories.

So what is all the commotion about the “Twilight” books? Here’s a quick summary of the upcoming books:

Breaking Dawn
The fourth book of the “Twilight” series. Here is a quoted message from Stephenie regarding the book:

“December 2006 Update: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has officially contracted with me to continue the Twilight Series. Breaking Dawn is tentatively set to be released in the fall of 2008, but making that deadline depends entirely on how fast I can write! Breaking Dawn is still in the outline stage, and if you don't see me around much in the next year or so, that's why.”

Midnight Sun
The story of “Midnight Sun” has yet to be released as well. In simple terms, it is “Twilight” told from the point of view of Edward. It is tentatively scheduled to be released sometime next year, but, because it is a “side project”, a real date has not yet been confirmed.

“Writing chapter one, "First Sight," from Edward's point of view was an exciting experience; I actually had my pulse racing as I typed. When I finished, I was truly pleased with my creation. Here was the other side of the story that no one knew. Here was the truth of what Edward had been through. I felt like I knew my Edward even better, and I was sure his dialogue would be more insightful in future novels.”

Forever Dawn
“Forever Dawn” is actually a book Ms. Meyer wrote for her own pleasure when she thought, at one time in her life, that “Twilight” was going to remain a one-shot story. It turned out to be 600 or so plus pages. She gave the finished work to her sister for her birthday one year and remains a rough outline for Bella and Edward’s story in the future.

_____FAQ for the Book

So… I was just wondering… it kind of slipped into my mind the other day… (tee-hee!) Exactly, what does Edward do when Bella has her “time of the month”?
- Ah, we get this question a lot. Stephenie answers this in full in one of her personal correspondences on the Lexicon website (see: “Links Out”). Basically, when Bella has her period, Edward acts like a gentleman and chooses to ignore it – plus, it doesn’t bother him too much – the blood is what Stephenie describes as “dead blood” – not so potent as actual blood from a cut. Bella is also too embarrassed to bring up the subject.

Do the Cullen’s have fangs?
- No. Again, this is answered in one of the personal correspondences with Stephenie on the Lexicon website. Stephenie’s vampires are very unique. Their teeth are very powerful and sharp, yes, but their front incisors don’t grow during transformation into a vampire. Let’s just say this is one reason why the students at Forks High don’t jump to immediate conclusions that the Cullen’s are vampires. This also explains why Bella has a “crescent” shaped scar on her hand from James – it is in the shape of a regular human set of teeth – much like the bites we see when we dig into a good ole’ PB&J or, my personal favorite, a turkey club.

CAN VAMPIRES HAVE SEX?! CAN THEY MAKE BABIES?! LOLOLOLOLOL
- … Well, you can read our thread discussion on the topic or you could take Stephenie’s word for it – you choose.

What Stephenie said was that it is possible for vampires to have sex in one of her personal correspondences (and it isn’t necessary to hook a male up to an IV to get some blood flow either – XD;; ). How this works isn’t fully described, but yes, it can be done.

No – vampires cannot have babies. It is because Stephenie’s vampires are frozen in their present state with none of their vital organs operating anymore. This means their reproductive systems can’t work anymore. Thus, no babies.

Why can Alice and Jasper’s powers affect Bella but Edward, Aro, and Jane’s powers not?
- It is not hard to figure out why, if you think about it. This is a question that Stephenie is constantly asked and can be found fully answered on her website in the New Moon FAQ section. In essence, this is what it says: Bella’s mind is very private. Because of this, vampire gifts that deal with the mind cannot affect her. That is why Edward and Aro’s mind-reading abilities do not work. Jane’s power of inflicting pain is actually a trick of the mind – she makes you think that you are in unbelievable pain, when in fact you are not. Alice and Jasper’s powers operate outside the mind. Alice sees decisions that affect the future, not the thought process that went into those decisions. Jasper physically feels a person’s emotions – he does not understand the reasons behind them.

Did Jacob imprint on Bella?!?!?!?!
- No. If he did imprint on Bella, he would have told Bella everything about being a werewolf in the second book because imprinting takes affect the moment one goes under the werewolf transformation. When a werewolf imprints, they are no longer bound by the rules of the alpha-dog (Sam, in this case) and they would do anything for their special someone. In Eclipse, Jacob also tries to make himself imprint on Bella because that would be proof enough for him that he was right for Bella and made just for her, unlike Edward. Plus – here’s another sure-fire way of figuring out whether Jacob imprinted on Bella or not. Edward would have been able to read Jacob’s thoughts to figure out whether or not he did imprint. He also mentions the subject in the chapter “Fire and Ice” in Eclipse while in the tent with Jacob. He knows Jacob did not imprint on Bella. I heard that the point of view switches in the fourth book to Jacob. Is this true?!
- Yes and no. If you are referring to a major POV switch, then no. But, yes, from what Stephenie tells us, Jacob will have some limelight in Breaking Dawn. The story will still mainly be focused on Bella, but the POV will, apparently, switch from time to time. At the time, we do not know the full details of this POV switch. The Auditions

Well, seeing as this thread couldn't possibly get any... randomer... we decided to hold auditions for parts in a Twilight play! And, as always, art has been created for those said auditions. <3

The Twilight comic made by the one and only: CAR-MA!! *applause and cheers* ;D Anyway, the comic is based off this thread and what happens when Edward and Bella decide to join Gaia and see what it is about.
