Indeed. my family, being big boned and having boobs and a** are prone to weight gain, so for me its harder to maintain a decent weight.

Sports and Modeling are probably the two most common factors in highschool that drivde people to look good. Cheerleading too.

Anyway its alot to do on the mental and emotional plain, and it varies from one person to the next. There is a difference between healthy diet and excersise and an Ed.

Aside from ana and Mia binge eating is also very much connected wit obesity, food is fast to get now so people go their constantly because the food makes you more hungry. In my opinion anyway.

Also you have people who tend to have signs of many eating disporders but not falling into one category.
At Felix, in the guild, if you look at the fun facts thread it gives reasons anjd signs. -nods- you were accepted by the way.

          I kick yououuu Anzyyyyy... It affects models and people in sports, but on a wider scale it's
          social pressure and peer pressure and genetics/co-morbid disorders! X<

          One thing I've noticed, There is definitely a...rejection of sexuality/adult body dynamic going on
          for some people. A lot of ED sufferers loooove Alice in Wonderland, and have a real affinity for
          childhood things.

          I think in some way they feel robbed of it - sexual abuse, or even just very early puberty or
          other manners of pushed maturity...
          In one guild I used to go to, I noticed a startling number of people talked about how they
          developed their breasts very early, around nine or so.

          There have been studies on the self-esteem of girls, and depending on when you start
          developing can have a real affect - girls who are ahead of their peers tend to have lower
          self-esteem. I read somewhere that fat actually stores more hormones, which makes
          overweight kids go through puberty faster. (Oh and fast food is full of excess hormones, too.)
          So factoring all that in...you have a very rocky emotional state.
Dun kick me im looking at it logically x,x sorry -whimper-
-yawns- lack of sleep affects muh brain functions darn it D;

Right! Saw it!

@Plushie/Anzy again: Woah. I feel...oddly enlightened. None of my friends are currently acting like that, but it's only freshman year, you know? I'm...nervous for them. All of them. Any of them. I only know a few of them well enough to know that they don't have the right frame of mind to get an ED.

That's really interesting, Plushie. And sort of scary. Developing at nine years old. It just seems...almost wrong. I remember when I started, the day and everything. Which...I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to know. But I'mma tell you anyway! October 24, 2007. I've been extraordinarily lucky to have never had an unfortunate experience with it, either. Huzzah!

All of this information has been duly noted and stored in my head, by the way. Thanks guys. =)

i started vefore 5th grade ended -shifts- very awkward but it also brought on my bulimia to a full circle. -nods- because lets face it i never got attention from my parents it was always my brother and my peers noticed me finally and it...set me off. but then i came out to my mom still trying to get my dad and aunt t ostop pushing me back into my old habbits. gawd., oh well

-nods-

Glad we could enlighten
-completely frozen-

my fingers i can't feel em XD

          I really...get defensive when people treat these these disorders as just shallow
          stupid girl problems, so...it's always good for more people to be informed. .__.;

          Go inside, silly Anzy! XD A nice view isn't worth losing you fingers~~

Oh trust me hun, I didn't treat them like shallow stupid girl problems before this either. >.< And I tend to make sure that anyone I know swallows their words when they start up with something like "It's the girl's fault anyway."

And I ALSO shut guys up whenever they're like, "We feel more pain that girls."

Yeah. Sure.

Have a period every month, have childbirth, get EDs more common, for YOU GUYS sometimes, and say that YOU have more pain. Oooooh, repressing women for years is sooooooo diiiiiffiiiiiicuuuuuult. Making the DECISIONS? God DAMN.

Gr. Pisses me off. Sorry, that has nothing to do with eating disorders. Just needed to get it off my chest.
