Welcome to Gaia! ::

SwiftWolf shakes his head after the brief exchange. "Neither, I am afraid. Hope is not something that would keep friends apart - it would be something to pull them together. And, personally, I do not see greed as either 'something one would hope would last' or 'a good start' for anything."

Blushing after the preceeding comment, he clears his throat. "Perhaps the riddle is too ambiguous...should I clarify my meaning?" he asks the room.
"Might it be honor?"

*she says over the rim of a mug of honeyed ale*
Shaoli sets the glass down as Yuletide makes his rounds with his magical drink tray. She mulls the question only long enough to come up with a mere guess.

"Trust?"
* sighs, obviously feeling a little discouraged.* then perhaps it is thought. i would have said honor after that, but someone had beaten me to it.
With a quick glance towards tabard, SwiftWolf addresses Shaoli first. "Trust fits well, except for enemies - while trust could bring them together, it is a rare occurance when enemies trust in one another."

SwiftWolf raises his glass towards tabard. "You, my dear, have the answer. Honor, the most valuable thing a man can posess." The last bit is said quietly, almost as if SwiftWolf was talking to himself.

Shaking his head, as if to clear it, he walks over to tabard. "Now, I shall now relinquish the spotlight to you." He offers her his hand to guide her to the stage, and then returns to his place along the wall, listening attentively.
Perhaps not quite unnoticed, a figure dressed in black slips in the back, and waits for the next riddle.
Shaoli sets her glass down and takes the stage again.

"As host of this session, I have to see to it that the game moves on. Tabard may take her turn whenever she is ready."

She pulls out a matchbox, and recites a simple riddle as she draws a match from its snug container.

A legend once was,
A new life begun....

She strikes the match, watches it burn.

From an ember that fell...

From the heart of the sun.

She snuffs the match.

"What am I?"
Enters, sits down, ponders for a few moments. Draws a blank.

"The only thing that sprung to mind was a phoenix, simply because of the life and fire references."

Looks down at the table embarrassedly.
Shaoli stands there holding the smouldering matchstick, her expression deadpan.

"Dammit. That was too easy. stage is yours, DG!"

She hops off the polished wooden platform and plops back into her seat, drumming her fingers on the white fabric on the table.
Holy crap!
Okay, let me think...

Travel I without abate,
Over red hill past pearly gates,
Through darkened catacombs below,
And with haste back I go.
Were I gone you'd surely miss
each unnoticed stolen kiss.

What am I?
* thinks for a few second, then speaks up, giving an answer* i'm not completely sure, but it seems to me the answer would be The Sun.
Shakes her head.

"Sorry, Hex, but I can see where you're coming from."
*yawns slightly* well, maybe i'll think of a better answer in the morning...
Shaoli has been sitting there thinking for an awful long time and now looks very vexed.

"Rain?"
