Welcome to Gaia! ::

I'm not sure, but water?
Shaoli holds her empty glass between herself and Ivria on the stage, light come thought it in myriad colours on its surface, and she is almost confident she has the answer this time.

Because she seeks it more than anything, even though it sometimes cuts and she is compelled to run.

Because it can be told in part and in whole, because all things adhere to its binding law.

But it is heavy.

"Truth."
"Actually, SwiftWolf has captured it - the answer is space. I suppose it's your turn now, SwiftWolf." Ivria seems relieved as she relinquishes the stage to the next person.
"Go Wolf!" Shaoli cheers as an anthropomorphic white rabbit waiter fills her glass. The creature then goes around offering a tray of select drinks, going first to Ivria.
Ivria accepts a peach nectar from the tray and smiles at the rabbit as he moves to the next person, then returns her attention to the stage.
Takes a floor seat against the back wall, smiling at the pleasant, sound-minded atmosphere in the room. He lightly claps at the last riddle.

"Excellent job, Wolf, and the same to Ivria. And a well-handled thought to a very close answer."
The rabbit waiter makes his strangely graceful way over to Shem, and silently offers the laden tray.

Shaoli throws a smile back to where Shem is sitting. "Get a little nearer the stage. You may be the next one up."

She indicates the rabbit with a thin hand. "His name is Yuletide, because he looks like snow. He mixed those drinks himself. Talented bugger."
SwiftWolf half-bows in their direction. "Thank you Shem, Shaoli. And thanks to Ivria, " with a slight smile in her direction, "for her riddle." SwiftWolf leans forward from the wall, and proceeds to the stage. "You'll have to forgive me, but while I do enjoy answering riddles, I'm not very good at telling them."

Stopping in front of the stage, SwiftWolf leans against it just like he was on the wall a few moments earlier. Raising his glass, he begins to speak in his clear, carrying fashion:

"Greater in value than the gems of the earth,
A man may posses it without knowing its worth.
Stronger than steel or brittle as glass,
This is a thing that you hope will long last,
It can bring enemies together, and keep friends apart
For many strong emotions, this is a good start."

Pausing when finished, he sips his drink, and waits for the answer.
* a figure that was hidden in the back this whole time speaks up, though he still stays in the shadows* i know this answer has already been used for one riddle, but might it be love, again?
Angsty Shem
"At the risk of defending the Good Revered Triste,
there was decent validity contained in his answer.
Of "victory" of course,
not his empty dream guess;
his second was crap,
no doubt applied there.
A riddle to author is a riddle to man,
but the riddle to language is a task which few plan."

Triste's eyes darted to the blonde one-eyed man who defended his answer.

"It was more an educated guess then, but once thought of, 'victory' fits not Shaoli's last sentence..."

He addressed SwiftWolf, next.

"I'm not sure of the exact description of the emotion, but I think 'determination' comes quite close."
(actually, this is pretty damn fun, even though I suck at it... XD XD XD )
DarkHex
I know this answer has already been used for one riddle, but might it be love, again?

SwiftWolf shakes his head. "While not a bad guess, I would not repeat Shaoli's answer. It wouldn't be right. No, love is one of the 'strong emotions' mentioned"

Triste
I'm not sure of the exact description of the emotion, but I think 'determination' comes quite close.

He takes a sip from his drink. "It comes close, although still a bit wide of the mark."
* nods some* i understand that you wouldn't repeat the answer * he thinks for a few more minutes, then speaks up again* then might it be hope instead?

*Mira clears her throat uncomfortably, seeming reluctant to speak*
Hope is a good answer, but isn't that contained within the riddle? *She blushes* No offense of course! smile
Could the answer be greed?
Hearing SwiftWolf's answer, Triste shrugged and replied once more.

"Then, it's either hate or anger. I cannot think of any other emotions that fit your riddle."

With that statement, he shook some of the ash of his cigarette onto the ashtray and waited.
