"The rules stand as such," she continues. "Only the poet with the first correct answer gets to come up and present his or her original riddle. We will now begin."

Also... She said this again on the post where she left me to moderate, though I couldn't locate that in the 10 seconds I looked smile
It would seem I cannot think of a sutible riddle, so i shall step down and let someone else post a riddle.
Well then I have a riddle I just came up with...It may be really easy and/or cheesy but Its the best I could come up with...I just like guessing the answers but I'll have a go at it...This riddle came to me when I was playing a game... sweatdrop

Quote:
I connect those who are close, together
Some may believe they dont have me but
I am part of everyone, inside,
Yet some wear me on their sleeves

What am I?
Yep. Told ya it was easy peasy
yay!! here's one, not origional, just fun.
What does a raven and a writing desk have in common
a) This riddle has already been posted here.
b) Original riddles only.
You get a couple hours to post an original, then the position goes up for grabs, thank you.
Yeah, I can't come up with original riddles. Thats why i stepped down, I just posted that for fun.

Edgar Allan Poe. xp

And it's "What DO a raven..."

Anyway, I'll be surprised if that's right...*watches and waits for a real riddle*
Actually, since no one else is posting...I'll post yon riddle.

I attended dinner with the Greeks,
Who gave me pi and epsilon.
Egyptians gave me glyphs and reeds.

Often scratched at, but not broken.
I have decreed the fall of kings,
Given law and order.

Who or What am I?

I think paper is a good answer smile
I dare say that paper is an excellent answer, though I'll throw another guess of wood down as well. cool

In a private function room lined with panels of polished wood and a lush burgundy carpet on the floor, Shaoli stands on the small platform to address the gathered writers and poets.

Raising a glass of clear, pale gold wine, she opens the night's challange with a simple riddle.

It can't be bought
It can be won
It is much sought
Sometimes a con

And here is how the real you tell
It has a flame no cold can quell
Worth more than pearls and gems and wealth
It's real when you forget yourself.

"The rules stand as such," she continues. "Only the poet with the first correct answer gets to come up and present his or her original riddle. We will now begin."

She sips her drink in its crystal glass, and scans the audience.
