Two, Yeaaaaaah hehehe...
Three, I actually believe necromancy to be, like many other types of magick, misunderstood and misrepresented often. In the lore of Diablo III The followers of the Rathma see and recognize that necromancy may seem and be seen like a dark power only because it is unnatural and just as well can be seen used by the prime evils of that verse. They take their power not from demons or dark rituals but from the creator dragon Trag' Oul which represents the balance and the void and, in reality, believe in the balance of the universe, that neither side should up the other and that often they happen to be on the good side because of the aggressive steps evil often takes towards plane domination. If anything almost all of them seem to be lawful neutral/good.
I do not remember and am too lazy to go check.
And I did not know that about Diablo lore. I just know the basic lore of necromancy, which almost always uses negative energy to work. Any necromancy that does not is like any other magic.
Yeah, not alot of people do.
The lore is one of the many reasons I like bone and death magic.
I fail to see how Blood Magic is evil. I have never come across lore that says it uses negative energy or dark forces, just someone's blood. The only way it can be bad, inherently, is by using the blood of an unwilling victim. Otherwise, using your own blood is perfectly fine and it becomes a matter of how you use it.
I can kind of understand why blood magic could be seen as evil. It was first taught to humans by the fade creatures, which the event in itself sounds somewhat bad, and rather then shape the world through the magic "gathered from nature" it uses the latent magic of life which really is an all powerful force. It's not necessarily the magic that corrupts the mage, it's the power that they could have and the demons that offer it that does and they often choose that power when they feel cornered or they themselves are evil.
I don't even consider the demons in the DA universe inherently evil. They're "natural" evil. They're the same kind of evil as a shark. That's just how they are, they cannot be any different. Mortal creatures like humans, elves, and dwarves have the ability to choose. Because of that, we are the ones who are truly evil or good. So, any power gained by a fade creature is neither good nor evil. It just is. The only evil thing about it is that most blood mages seem to enjoy using the blood of other people, instead of their own.
