And then there was the way Bella would complain that she had no friends (well, not complain, exactly), but would then make deragatory comments behind the backs of the people who attempted to befriend her. I mean, wtf? This book makes me angry. So angry.

@Ane: That whole thing was just stupid. I mean, I've always been plain-looking and have not had a whole lot of suitors in my life. And yet, Bella has thousands? All the guys she comes in to contact with are attracted to her? Why, Ms. Meyer, WHY?! I think that she wanted to have a plain-looking MC to show that she wasn't obesessed with beauty, but didn't want Bella to look unattractive xp

I just can't understand why everyone on this thread keeps going on about Twilight.
I haven't heard of twilight outside of Gaia.
Maybe I just live in the wrong country

Other rappers diss me
Say my rhymes are sissy
Why? why? Why?
Be more constructive with your feedback please
Is it because I rap about reality?
Like me and my Grandma drinking a cup of tea?
((Flight of the Conchords))
By the way- Twilight sucks.

I've never heard of a "wrong" country wink But seriously, a country where you haven't heard of Twilight sounds like the right countryXD Incidentially, where do you live?

I liked both Twilight and NewMoon, but I really want her to just finish Midnight Sun. It's basically Twilight from Edward's POV. And personally, that was a lot more interesting. Just reading the first chapter she posted on her website, I got a different feel for Edward. He was more animalistic or primative. I liked him that way a lot more. Sure, the story was too perfect, but it was a lot better than the sappy romance books and other vampire stories (Nora Roberts and Laurell K. Hamilton come to mind...). There are a lot of things Stephenie could improve on... but she found something that's successful, and hey, if she makes money that way, there's no way we can stop her. It's the same as the 6th Harry Potter book (can you say fanfiction?).

True, making a cliche YA romance with "hawt" vampires is a good way to make money even if it's terribly unoriginal. Heck, I'd do that too if I wanted to make money as a writer.

I have to agree with you on the Harry Potter thing, JK is a great writer but I guess romance is not her forte.

Romance was never her forte... and yet, she still writes it into the books. Please JK, spare us. >.>

Romance definitely isn't Rowling's forte. Then again, they are teenagers. Awkward turtle abound!

On Twilight--- I utterly hated it. It's basically a 'Let's get in each others pants/lives' book! I didn't like how immature it was. That, and Mayer made her vampires 'Child Safe' what with the 'we drink from animals' thing.

You people annoy me so much with your "everyone loves it so i have to hate it" attitudes. I get the "be your own person" thing and don't follow the crowd, but come on! books arn't clothing! maybe people are reading the books that are popular because maybe they arnt that bad!

twilight is not cliche, the vampires are nothing like traditional vampires and no they are not effen perfect, Bella is a normal human being who happens to be in love with a very handsom guy. so what if he is very hot? if he was fugly then it would still be cliche. hello beauty and the beast!? JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING IS EFFEN CLICHE!!!

Would you rather read a book that is full of people killing other people and a world full of hate? if u want that watch the news, i like reading about a world that is full of love.

and yes i will agree with that one person who mentioned that she went to jacob, it was a stupid thing for her to do, but hey more proof that she is not perfect. I'd probably do the same thing if my bf broke up with me and my friends hated me.

write a book that is good, not cliche, and one that everyone does not fan over then i will personally congradulate you.

Maybe they are that bad and the world just has bad taste. I mean, hey, it happened with Eragon rolleyes Learn to tell a good book from a bad one, then come talk to me.

Now, lets not be too harsh here.

We don't hate Twilight because everyone loves it. I don't like it because I feel that it isn't believable, and not very well written.

Different people like different things. I completely respect your opinion on Twilight. I have no issues with people liking it. I started this topic just because I saw so many people who seemed to like it, and after reading it, I wanted to know if anyone else had any less than sparkling opinions on it.

And I don't see why I need to write a book to prove my point to you.

I was actually really not expecting that, though. All of my online Twilight friends are really... respectful, I guess.

Elisabeth/Der Tod: Everything Bella/Edward should have been, but were too weak to even dream of being.

Well, they weren't entirely child safe. If you think about it, Jasper had a hard time being around blood because he hadn't quite gotten to the point of being able to resist it. Also, there were James, Victoria and them that still attacked humans. They weren't child safe. >.<

If you read between the lines, Twilight and New Moon weren't all that immature. Sure, it touched themes that we've all read in every other book, but she addressed them differently. Judging a book doesn't mean by just how they write their characters and the rest of the story. It's also about plot, subplot, themes, and just how their writing style really is. Without writing style, everyone would sound the same.

hey I apollogize for being a bit harsh and for losing my temper, i guess i just like the cliche stuff because there is always a happy ending and somtimes... you just need a happy ending and forget that real life isnt always like that.
