Just thoguht I'd clarify - I'm not a hater. There's just a limit to the number of times you can hear: "Twilight is sooo awesome. Edward is smexy." Before you start developing issues.

And, personally, I take the "No one writes them better" banner as an insult. xp

i just finished Twilight a few hours ago-- I loved it, but yeah it was too perfect. Sadly i find that happens with a lot of romances and a lot of fantasies, so i'm not surprised it happened with this one. It's not nearly as bad as the Princess Diaries, though- at least Bella is a little more 3-D than that (she's not quite as over-the-top mushy about her love interest, and has no sense of logic) and Edward has his faults- he's stubborn and a martyr. And when all the perfection gets to be too much, i remember how Bella herself noticed that there seemed to be nothing that she could do better than him, and she seemed exasperated. that is the one time I've ever heard a character admit that theres something too perfect going on, and it helps the aggrivation smile

Sue/Stu overload, yes, cliche, yes, vampires should never sparkle in the sunlight, yes and again yes.
It would have done so much more for the plot if he'd turned into something horrid in the sunlight. At least it'd test Bella's infatuation.

And can you say unhealthy? What sort of message are we sending to girld when Bella finds out Eddie's been watching her sleep and her frist thought is not

For me, on Edward becoming shinny in the sunlight, is that it's atleast something different then the typical vampire. Whom would turn to dust or whatever. More creative in a sense. A vampire IS suppose to look attractive to lure prey in. Liked you'd see in any typical predator...or most...some..you know what I mean.

And I thought so too, about Bella not thinking that Edward spying wasn't creepy. I found it creepy too, but he didn't do anything to her. So it's almost a question on maturity of the reader, right?

I personally thought it was a well written book. I love romance, especially when it's somewhat complicated. 3nodding

See, it might make sense for them to shine to attract their prey, except... they end up hiding it. Because people think that shiny people are creepy, not attractive. Also, why do they need to attract them? They can move faster than sight and stop cars with their bare hands. 'Nough said.

Not quite yet. But I'm getting there. My editor is helping me through the process... but it's taking a lot of time. We were discussing my story since I was trying to figure out how to end it. xD And we came down to...

1. Me writing the worst most cliche ending ever since it's too hard to write the ending I want.
2. Rewriting the whole story in a completely different perspective to get the ending I want because it just fits better.

I picked the latter, and hence, that's where I am. Rewriting. EVERYTHING. XP

It wasn't quite having the character live happily ever after, but close enough. More or less, it was having the brother (who's POV I'm now using) move on, and get over with what he was dealing with. But now that I changed it, I actually figured out hearing his voice in my head was a lot easier than writing it in third person. So far, I have the first chapter rewritten, which is so much better than how it originally started. But there's a lot to rewrite, but I'm stuck right now. xD Yay for writers block!

Be back soon... Must run to the store... maybe I'll be able to buy my inspiration there. HAHA! I don't think so... >.>

It is a happy-ever-after ending, and I do admit, I like those too. But I wanted an ending that also threw a curve at the readers. xD

One author I suggest that does a really good job at surprising her readers with endings is Jodi Picoult. Her books are what make me want to give a curveball ending. My Sister's Keeper and The Tenth Circle have really amazed me at how I can't guess the ending of her books. I could if I tried harder... >.> But I don't like to ruin her books by guessing the ending. xD
