I think it's a great book, and if you could see the past the "Average girl/handsome vampire" cliche', maybe you would like it too.

We could live forever if you've got the time.

I'm very annoyed at all the attention that book gets.
It might be amusing, but it should never be compared to classic literature.

Ever.

I read it because I have a tendency to read popular stuff. I even forced my way through Eragon. :'D But I didn't like it. The sappy romance deal in Twilight is NOT cool. I do agree, however, that it would be a decent story if Bella didn't refer to Edward's divine face or scorching eyes every other line. @_@

Regardless, I read through the first chapter of Edward's story (the one Meyer is apparently in the middle of working on) and it doesn't seem half bad. No sappyness whatsoever as of yet. But I don't think I'll be able to read through the rest of it. Oh well. I'll just stick to my Jane Eyre's and such, instead.

I'd like to read further to find out what Bella is. After all everyone she meets happens to be a vampire or werewolf...so what is she? I think if Stephenie doesn't make Bella something spectacular then she shouldn't be writing these books. stare

I haven't read the book. And judging by the description given of it, I'm probably not going to. stare I do know that I've heard/seen too many crazed fan-girls over it.

As said by most others, everyone is just too perfect. There isn't anything wrong with them.

You know what bothers me? The book is a romance. The only points that keep the "plot" moving are the scenes where Bella meets up with Edward. And yet we get no reason for why they "love" eachother! A mean, all we know is that he's pretty and she smells nice. There's no connection. Ugh rolleyes Twu wuv. Yeesh.

Yep, I hate the books.

Actually, I mostly hate New Moon. It just isn't realistic that Bella goes catatonic for three months because her boyfriend leaves her. Then she goes and uses Jacob for her own ends, knowing that he's obsessed with her. I hope Jacob kills Edward and Bella. That's probably not going to happen, but a girl can dream.

My friend and some friends I have on here want me to read it, I'm a little hesitant because I don't really read love stories unless they are fanfics. But it is really cliched? THen I might not read it.

I support The Writer's Guild Of america's strike! Think on this: the next time you buy a dvd, a writer will get 4 cents for it!

If you believe in the strike then sign the pettition:

I read it about a year ago, when it wasn't so popular and people didn't talk much about it. I liked it, because it was the first romantic vampire novel I had read. But then everyone started to talk about it while mooning over Edward (damn you all), and that alone actually made me grow to dislike it. The one and only reason I'm going to read New Moon when it's published in the UK, is because I've already read Twilight.

I agree with you though, it's very cliché, and I probably only liked it because it was my very first romance novel.

Because of Gerard Way's obvious gayness,
I'm starting to think his LOLWIFE Lyn-Z might be a male transvestite.

The thing that gets me is that Meyer claims to have never read anything similar to her novels, but I can pick it apart scene by scene in some places and match them up to other books. That moment of:

Edward: Wait, you know I'm a vampire?
Bella: Yep.
Edward: Doesn't that bother you?
Bella: Nope.
Edward: You aren't going to leave me?
Bella: Nope.
Edward: *tears the room apart* That could be you.
Bella: I don't care. Kiss me and make me a vampy, too!

... it just made me sick. It's almost exactly like the moment Elena realizes that Stefan is a vampre in L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries. And what's with all the electricity? It's some of the worst, cheesiet, most cliche'd writing I've read, and yet, for some odd reason, it sucks people in like a kind of vortex. I was apalled that I stayed up late on a school night just to find out what overused plot point was going to be abused next by how amazing Edward is.

Questing: 1.1 million so I can look like these...

Any kind of support makes me smile!

I am the captain of a sinking ship.
Give kids "OMGZ HAWT" vampires and an unoriginal romance plot and you've got yourself a famous YA novel. 3nodding

I can't stand all of the Twilight threads that keep popping up. Last time I checked, there were three hate threads on the front page.

Twilight hate threads? Really? I just looked over the past five pages and didn't find one. Not one that was clearly marked, atleast o.0

Elisabeth/Der Tod: Everything Bella/Edward should have been, but were too weak to even dream of being.

Cold, dead, and sparkling = "Tall, dark, and handsome" for the sexually batshit.
