The first time I read the book, I admit it, I was in love with it. But after I thought about it and read the book again, I hate it. It's annoying. Every character is perfect. And that's bad. She makes out a vision that's how every relationship should go. That's a very BAD relationship, where you don't get to hang out with your friends.

In short, I hate the book.

And the fact everyone at my school is talking about it CONSTANTLY. I just want to tell them all to SHUT UP.

I know what you mean. It tends to grab you at first - the idea is cool, after all. But then it wears off. Except that many fans are convinced that it is God's Gift to Stephenie Meyer. Divinely inspired, so to speak. And then they get loud...

I did manage to convince a fan that it was a bad relationship. xd I don't know if she'll be able to look at it the same way again. I hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone, but they need to know.

Several friends said it was the best book ever. Upon reading it, I was dissapointed. It looked pretty good (well, I liked the cover sweatdrop ) and I thought it would be waaaaaaaaaay darker (betrayal, murder, people getting eaten, character flawage...) When I closed it, I thought, "Wow. That was terrible..."
you know,i didn't even finish the book because to me the paceing was far too slow.

reading this thread i'm glad i didn't finish it.

also, all the twilight threads started by the squeeing fans that DO NOT READ THE STUPID RULES are driveing me insane! There is a thread for people who like the book and a thread for people who hate it. use them!

Yeah, they gave it this awesome cover, so younger girls would think they were reading a big girl book, and big girls would think they were reading some deep, serious, dramatic romance.
I agree with a lot of the criticisms on the first page. The second book was better, but the books are far from perfect. Stephenie Meyer wrote for fun with no intention of publishing (at least at first) and it shows.

I know! Vampire novels are all about dark themes! That's why people still read Dracula and Carmilla.

When my sister and I finished we both agreed that it read like fanfiction.

She probably wrote it as a fanfic and accidentally sent it to a publishers house. They thought it was gold, and published it. And that is how we get Twilight.
I was at the bookstore with a friend browsing for something interesting to read when she noticed it on the shelf. I've never read it, but the loud hiss she gave off when she saw it was enough to let me know that she didn't like it almost as much as my feelings about Eragon.

I read the back cover of it to see if it was interesting, was immediately turned off by how dumb it sounded, and then set it back down.

It just screamed every horrible cliche ever done right in my face. It was more than enough to set the alarms off.

Yup, pretty much. My mom commented on how the publishers were making it sound awful, putting that "Of three things I was certain" line on the back. Then I told her it was an actual quote from the book.

I think that Mrs. Meyer only got away with the elegant black cover by putting vampires in it - it has "pink and baby blue" written all over it.

Vampire chick lit. xp
In my opion people give it too much cerdit I thought it was goodish but not like obsseevie good I thought that too much of the conflict sucked and the vapire trying to kill bella thing had no deltales to the actual fight that happend I wante dto know how eward killed the guy!

I actually hated the cover in the first place, and after reading it I just disliked it more. I don't believe there was a single apple anywhere in the story.

Also, I sent out my story to all those who asked for it. I apologize for not getting it out sooner, but I haven't been able to get on since yesterday afternoon.
*Luffs Feeglie* Heya! I read your story, but I won't comment now because I have the worst headache and can't form a coherent sentenceXD I will say that it was good, and are you lookin' for comments or (completely constructive) writing crits? 'Cause, when the headache goes, I can give either biggrin

And I was also wondering about the name "Feegle". Are you a Pratchetteer, or is it coincedence or what?
It just looks really cheesy :/ I don't want to read it, but if I see good reviews (which I'm not currently, lol) I might consider it.
The book was great when I read it. But once I started thinking of it it seemed to fairytaleish apart from the vampires everything seems to perfect. Bella seems to dependent on Edward and Edward seems to protective of Bella. The plot is so overused. Bella is basically the whiney princess in many books and Edward the knight in shining armor aprart from the fact that he's a vampire. I will still contitnue to read all the books for curiosity but I will never think that it was a great book.
