I'm in the middle of reading this book.
So far it is pretty good- I just HATE how she has to explain every little detail.
You know, stuff like "chicken enchiladas" for dinner.

Yeah. She prolly could have cut out about 200+ pages if Bella didn't have to describe how Edward looked so often.

Yeah. I mean it is good to describe what someones emotions look like- but she explain the smallest details like, "his head was slightly tilted why his eyes were pierced right at her with his right arm placed on his right cheek with a slight tilt away from her direction.

Hahaha.

I agree. Her over-description really takes you out of the story. Information dumps are bad.

Also, could you stop using that light-blue color for your letters, it's really a pain to try and read.

It is true that she is very discriptive, which sinse an important part of the book is haveing to do with the amazingness of Edward, is good. And for me it is about the right size,if she cuut down on it it'd be smaller, which, in my opinion is not the best.

What's wrong with small books? Plus, I know Edward bein awesome (which he's not) is important to the story, but does she need to repeat that he looks like a god over and over an over?

Yup. You are right. Like the whole beach scene? Why did we need to know every detail?

Gah. It's not that hard for me to read.
But I'll change it.

I really hope guys don't start copying Edward. That would just pain me to suddenly hear some guy say something Edward might say... >.> Or be completely over protective and take control of the situation. Personally, I like my name, and would hate to go by something else. I mean, going by Edward wouldn't be a bad thing if the girl didn't know the Twilight series. Then I wouldn't be compared.

You bring up an interesting topic.
I hear that phrase a lot:
"I love Twilight so much I compare my boyfriend / all the guys I meet to Edward!"
Or something to that extent.

But I've gotta wonder what it's like for the guys if that's true. Sure, it's just a book, but when some fictional, non-existent guy can get your girl swooning in ways you never thought she could, that's gotta hit a little below the belt, doesn't it?

But whatever. I haven't come across any guys who've experienced such things so I'll leave it alone for now. Sorry to anyone who just wasted their time reading my small wall of unnecessary text =D

No, it wasn't random. It's true though. How can guys that writers write/create make girls swoon when their own boyfriend can't even do that? I've never understood why girls seem to fuss over guys that aren't even real. Some of them have even said, "I wish so-and-so were real. Then I could date him". You and a ton of other people hun. >.< But maybe that's just what I hear a lot walking the halls of my school.

Okay, I like twilight and I can sorta understand why ppl would hate it, sometimes it does get annoying. I like twilight because of the way it unfolds. I like how everything gets explained at some point in the story. As for the POV comment, Stephenie Meyer is releasing the book "Midnight Sun" which is "Twilight" in Edward's point of view.

Really? 'cause I like books where they leave some stuff unexplained, for you to figure out.

down in the "News" part of the site, Ms Meyer suggests that boys should emulate Ed.

Ah, are you talking about this tidbit?
Quote:
(A note to boys: there are going to be scads of gorgeous single girls all prettied up and thinking romantic thoughts at the prom. Introduce yourself as "Edward" and you are going to get a fantastic reception.)

Nope. This bit, near the bottom of the page.
Stephenie Meyer
The male readers of Twilight and New Moon are slowly but surely growing in number, and I'm always excited to meet boys brave enough to read a book that is told from a first person female perspective (we girls are used to reading the opposite—male perspectives are so common in the English class cannon). Consider the possibilities! What if boys decided to emulate Edward? Would the world not be a better place? I think it would! I just hope none of these nice guys decide to use the insight given in Twilight for evil.

Evil... oh, like imitating Ed? xp

Aaand just had a rabid fan on the Poison Apple tell us we're all "obese twats who couldn't get a pockmarked 15-year-old to look at us."
Points for originality. stare

What part of the site? I haven't gotten around to reading everything yet.

Forums, Characters, Least Favorite. Several fans there. One rational fan. The rest only semi-literate.

Edward did it again... he forced Bella to go to her party, and ignored her protests. Then she goes and hurts herself and he makes it about him! Stupid self-pitying, selfish, b*****d of a vampire!

-dies laughing-
Yup. Imitate this, boys!
You do need to write a lengthy commentary. Complie your rants. Make it into a leaflet to distribute to fans.
Anti-Edwardian propoganda! cool

I could imagine swooning over a fictional character. But one who actually acts like a real guy, so the real guys have a chance.
Thing is, I get that warm-and-fuzzy swoony feeling thinking about close friends. confused So I'm sort of unsure of what that actually means.

I agree. I love figuring out the plot and things about the characters on my own.

While I normally go for bigger books, Twilight had too much fluff.

Now, if we filled those 200+ pages with HIGH INTENSITY ACTION SCENES and PLOT we'd be good ^_^
Twilight and New Moon are horrible books. The only reason I read them was for the secondary characters. I like them way more than the main. Isn't it pretty sad to read a book where you really hate the main characters. Most of the books are just poorly written fluff about unoriginal characters.
I can understand. I want those action scenes to be more bloody and vampire fighting filled!!
OMFG.
