down in the "News" part of the site, Ms Meyer suggests that boys should emulate Ed.
Ah, are you talking about this tidbit?
Quote:
(A note to boys: there are going to be scads of gorgeous single girls all prettied up and thinking romantic thoughts at the prom. Introduce yourself as "Edward" and you are going to get a fantastic reception.)
Nope. This bit, near the bottom of the page.
Stephenie Meyer
The male readers of Twilight and New Moon are slowly but surely growing in number, and I'm always excited to meet boys brave enough to read a book that is told from a first person female perspective (we girls are used to reading the opposite—male perspectives are so common in the English class cannon). Consider the possibilities! What if boys decided to emulate Edward? Would the world not be a better place? I think it would! I just hope none of these nice guys decide to use the insight given in Twilight for evil.
Evil... oh, like imitating Ed?

Aaand just had a rabid fan on the Poison Apple tell us we're all "obese twats who couldn't get a pockmarked 15-year-old to look at us."
Points for originality.

What part of the site? I haven't gotten around to reading everything yet.
Forums, Characters, Least Favorite. Several fans there. One rational fan. The rest only semi-literate.

Edward did it again... he forced Bella to go to her party, and ignored her protests. Then she goes and hurts herself and he makes it about him! Stupid self-pitying, selfish, b*****d of a vampire!
-dies laughing-
Yup. Imitate this, boys!
You do need to write a lengthy commentary. Complie your rants. Make it into a leaflet to distribute to fans.
Anti-Edwardian propoganda!
cool
I could imagine swooning over a fictional character. But one who actually acts like a real guy, so the real guys have a chance.
Thing is, I get that warm-and-fuzzy swoony feeling thinking about close friends.
confused So I'm sort of unsure of what that actually means.
