Welcome to Gaia! ::

One of them had a close-up photograph taken. I don't know how they forgot to ask for it, or how my friend didn't notice.
Well Anj, I guess you got quite a remarkable behind.

Not buying stuff in the first place is a good option, until you need to use stuff that's in working conditions.
That's one rad backpack. I only buy black, boring ones. They reflect my inner self.

I wonder if nobody has told the Gaia staff about the button mishap.
Do you have foxes around the forest area?
It was a female professor, if that's what you were thinking. =D
And I don't think my backside is particularly remarkable.

Yeah, that's true but backpacks aren't that easily breakable ...
It totally is. They had another one that is even more Aloha (and also made using recycled plastic) but I liked the somewhat more understated one better. :3
I'm sure your inner self is neither black nor boring.

Oh they did. Remember I only knew the correction for it from a thread in SF.

Yeah. I saw one in the forest once, and two or three times in my street even.
And I know that some people around here leave treats in their gardens that are laced with medicine to rid the foxes of worms and such.

I don't judge her tastes. ;D
Well, if you organize a meeting in the future, ask one of the attendants about what they think about your buns. It won't be a creepy question. Not at all.

I think the first one is the most rad backpack. But the second one is made of recycled stuff, so that's a plus.

Oh right. Well, I guess they also remember when they took that game "Frontier Skies" down to "fix it" like, three years ago.

That's really cute. I'll ask a friend that lives in the South if they also leave food
with medicine around the forests. I bet they do, but if they don't, it's a good idea.

Yeah ... no, not gonna do that. =D

Yup, but I still have a working backpack, two actually, so I'm good. :3

Oh right, Frontier Skies. Also zomg! and Fishing. And who knows what else.
It's as if that is their euphemism for "We'll take it out back and shoot it."

I heard about it from a local vet, before I ever saw a fox in my street,
so I thought the people who do this must be living closer to the forest.
I still wonder what the foxes were looking for around here.

Your mention of "in the the South" reminded me of how long your country is,
and that this means lots of coast.
Time for "ocean sounds" on yt!

They are like a bad parent that doesn't know how to tell to their children when their mascot dies.
Except that we're all mostly adults in this site. And they killed the pets, multiple times.

Ah, oceans sounds. My favorite kind of background sound.

I went camping to the beach 3 weeks ago, I forgot to talk about it. I was so drunk.

That's what I meant! =)

You can have hours of ocean sounds on yt. And rain/thunder and forest sounds.
Then again, you can just have the real thing.

You're like a Simpsons reference encyclopedia! I haven't even watched the Simpsons in so many years.

Talk about it nao then!

Well, there's also tons of porn on the internet. But I could just have the real thing. In theory.
Then again, there's the availability issue, and that it's too late and I'm too tired to chase for some tail.
Or go to the beach. Alone. At night.

I was talking with a friend yesterday and she told me that she couldn't understand how I can remember so much stuff.
I told her that the secret is that it has to be trivial stuff, and unrelated to math.
I mean, I can math the s**t out of things, but I don't remember most formulas. Or the periodic table.
Or most other stuff that has actual, useful aplications.

Well, we went to the beach after waiting for well over 5 hours to the guy that was going to come
and take all the stuff I was going to share with the peeps at the beach. And then we got pretty late
to the beach, and then I finished putting up my tent and inflating all the inflatable stuff at 10 p.m.
It was so freaking windy, but I wasn't cold because I'm too hot.
But then I was so tired that I got drunk after just 5 beers and half a bottle of rum.
We where chilling at a bonfire that we managed to lit with another friend (the only other engineer, besides me and his girlfriend).
Then I went to get a cosy coat for my friend's gf at my tent, and the inflatable mattress was too comfy and I passed out.
Then another girl that always gets all cranky when she's drunk was all cranky because another
couple hooked up and they were sharing the tent with her and kind of throw her away.
So I got her into my tent, and so, we all could sleep, finally. I also threw up, outside of the tent, of course.

The other day was awesome, we had so much fun at the ocean and ate and stuff.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy Anj and Al.

It has been awhile since I got on. The dying thread makes me a little sad, but I'm glad you two still seem to post here regularly. Today I didn't have any class or other engagements, so here I am (granted I got up after 12, but I was really tired and took advantage of my day off).

Winter is certainly coming. It has gotten much colder, rainier, windier, and cloudier. It's pretty much the same cold, wet, windy, cloudy days until the snow/snowstorms arrive. I prefer snow over rain. The snow reflects the minuscule amount of sun we get and makes it a bit brighter, although it's not exactly the same as direct sunlight, of course. That's just how it is here.

Last Friday was my 22nd birthday! yum_puddi
Begin birthday rant.
Luckily, this year I'm done on Friday by noon, so I had most of the day to celebrate. This year, Dar (the boyfriend) and I had a sort of "date-day". By "date-day" I mean he told me that he would take me wherever whenever for whatever, so I made a long agenda list. Most of it was clothing shop browsing, boutiques, and food. Really the only part he suggested was the movie, The Last Witch Hunter, since it came out on my birthday.

We went downtown and visited many little shops and boutiques, including a cheesecake place and a chocolatier (yum). He's not really into cheesecake or chocolate, so he just enjoyed my company while I ate happily. There were a couple novelty stores that we also looked around in for fun. He found some things he liked enough to buy while we were looking around, so I'm glad for that. Boutique clothing sure is expensive. I liked many of the designs I saw, but I did not want to ask Dar to buy me the articles.

I was a little disappointed since some of the shops I wanted to see were closed or just shut down. A jewelry store was closed until the 24th and the lingerie store I wanted to look at was just not there anymore. Boo.

For dinner, I chose a well-rated and reviewed stand-alone Japanese restaurant. I loooooove sushi, seafood, eel, etc., but I also made sure they had things that he would like (he's not a sushi man). They had cutlets, ramen, and pork ribs, so I figured he'd be happy with any of those. He was. He got the cutlet (he has a thing where he has to try the pork cutlet from every Japanese place he goes to). Along with my sushi rolls, I also got dessert (which I normally never do since they are expensive for what you actually get). I got a Taiyaki with ice cream. It came with a lot of (real) whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. I was very full by the end of this.

Since there was time between the end of dinner and the movie (which started around 10), we went to the mall to look around more. I got a Totoro dress. I think it's pretty cute. Thought about getting Pusheen pins I found, but I decided not to. Now I kind of wish I had...oh well. I did however show him a corgi board sticker, which he was excited about.

Movie time. It was in a different theatre than we normally go to, so it was farther away. But DAYUM. The seats are La Z Boys and arranged in couple seating with plenty of room all around. It was very comfortable and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the rowdy teenagers in the row in front of us. They kept fooling around and made a lot of noise at some parts of the movie. Ugh. But the movie was enjoyable.

After the movie, we also went to a collaborated birthday celebration. Another one of our friends has the same birthday as me, and two more have birthdays on the 25th, so we have just combined celebrations for all of us since freshman year. There were drinks, games, videogames, food, etc. Was fun.

I was very happy to go out and have a day to just the two of us. It was nice. I also got a lot of loot. Hehe. gaia_diamond Other things I didn't mention were pins, stickers, candy, elephant sweater, silver tree pendant, (more) DnD dice and bags, specialty soaps, and more chocolate. You can never have enough (dark) chocolate. Mmm.

I did homework for tomorrow and more work on one of the three group projects (ugh, group projects), so I feel I am entitled to go change my avatar for the season. Halloween is upon us. Not sure what I am going to do. Was invited to a few different parties, but I didn't bring my vampire stuff. The college ofc also has events. Dar suggested we, as a group, re-watch the Saws movies for kicks. Are you guys doing anything for Halloween this year?

The thread is not dying. It's a disguise! For Halloween!

Winter is coming for you, and it's gonna get chu, and you might catch a cold!
We got some heavy rain this year, which is a first, since it never rains two years in a row.
You know, global warming.

Happy belated birthday, Siddlebuns <3

You both sure had a great time on your birthday. I need to see that Totoro dress <3
That movie theater sounds like a dream come true. Then again it's the USA.
I did fool around with my ex-gf at the movies, once. It was on a "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest's" showing.
We got busted the next year when we where watching the movie with her parents and we didn't remember the latter half of the movie. We had a great laugh.

Unnnnggggh, your vampire costume from a few years back. That dress.

There's a festival of foreign communities this weekend, so I'll go to cheer up some of my friends that are participating, and eat tons of food.

Yeah, I get that comparison. But you going to the beach is still a lot more feasible than me doing that.

My brain is like that too. It can easily store tons of trivial things (like what which card does on RO - I still remember some of those and it's been years) but when it comes to math: crickets.
Having to re-learn parts of math whenever I happen to need them is rather annoying.
It's not that it's too difficult (most of it anyway), it just doesn't stick, for some reason.

What kind of person leaves people waiting for 5 hours? That's like ... most of a day.

I didn't know tiredness had to do with people getting drunk more easily ... "just 5 beers and half a bottle of rum" sounds like a lot to me though ... especially when you have to throw up afterwards.
That always seemed so unpleasant to me, which is part of why I never really got into this.

I'm glad that your other beach day went better though!

Happy Belated Birthday!!

Yeah, we're trying to keep the thread alive - with trivial stuff. wink
It's always great when people return though! heart

Awh, you can sleep in! Somehow I can't really manage that anymore.
I just wake up, even when I didn't get as much sleep as I'd like to.
I also have this weird thing where I wake up right in the middle of dreams, as if someone or something pulled me out, often for no particular reason. And of course, if I do manage to get back to sleep, whatever I dream will be something different and not the thing I got pulled out from. It's a bit like watching TV with someone trigger-happy holding the remote.

Weather here is similar. But I prefer this to the summer of too hot weather we had this year.
What bugs me more is the shorter day-length. Getting up when it's still dark is bad and I like sunlight in the evenings too.

Your birthday recount doesn't sound like a rant to me. Seems like you had a nice day!

I suppose the closing shops are a symptom of everybody buying things online rather than offline.
And most shops in town centers or malls (at least here) are brand / chain stores and they're always the same everywhere, which makes shopping even more boring than I already think it is.
I'm also trying not to have too much stuff in general.

As for expensive Japanese food, I've been to a teppanyaki restaurant once. That's where they prepare your food right in front of you on a large hot surface. It was very interesting to watch.
They even had dessert made that way. (I had ice cream that was wrapped in something and then fried for just a few seconds and they put some matcha powder on it.)
In Japan desserts were usually small (by our standards) and elaborate (by my standards, but maybe I'm lazy). Then again, so is most of their food ... and maybe small isn't a bad idea considering many modern civilizations ...

Also, I didn't know you play DnD.
And I agree with Al about wanting to see the Totoro dress.
And I also want to know what an elephant sweater is.

As for Halloween, it's not really that popular here (although you can actually go to castle Frankenstein and there will be people dressed up trying to scare you, and there are probably a few similar things going on in other places) and it's only lately that kids have started trick or treating.
Even though I find that a bit unnecessary, I decided to play nice and got some candy.

A more popular thing here is St. Martin's Day, one of the highlights in kindergarten and elementary school calendars. =)
