Seriously hon, it was exactly what I needed. I was surprised the staff wasn't much older than me, and most of the patients were around my age with only four being much older out of fifteen patients in my unit. It's not at all what I thought it'd be. There was tons of activities and the staff played games with me. I learned two card tricks, how to turn a styrofoam cup inside out without breaking it, a bunch of card games, and how to make a bird feeder with a pine cone, peanut butter, and bird seed. I mostly got stuck playing Uno and Sorry with the patients. And every night I played Scrabble with a staff member. I loved playing him since if I won I knew I really was doing good and he wasn't just letting me win. Also, I played Monopoly. There's a rec center there too once I got some privs to leave the unit I got to go. They have exercise equipment, a full size basketball court with four hoops, shuffle board, speed ball, punching bags, pool, puzzles, ping pong, two tvs, computers (no internet though), guitars, various board games, and darts. Last week we had a camp day where we got to hangout outside and eat smores, do camp songs, park services brought some baby sturgeons so we can see how they grow and two painted turtles. We did Geo Caching. It's hard to explain you should google it. That was fun. And there was also bracelet making but I didn't do that. Weekends are totally boring though since most of the patients sleep all day and there's barely any groups. But the rest of the time they kept me busy with groups, TV, games, and coloring.
