I own a black cat but she's got an orange spot or two. There's nothing wrong with a black cat, anyone who thinks so is just ignorant.

The only way encountering a black cat is going to cause you harm is if it's got rabies and bites you, or you trip over it into the path of a car or something, which is entirely your fault for wandering into the road to look at a cat.

I have a black cat. Short of attacking everyone's feet, nothing ever happens. The only reason this superstition exists is because, in many cultures, people have a problem with cats and think that black is a horrible, evil color.
