Jesus is there like a rule somewhere that says that phobias can't have normal names?
I wouldn't think anyone was crazy if they said "I have Friday the 13thopobia", but if they said "I have paraskevidekatriaphobia" I'd be like "DUDE WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?"
Seriously like, para what? Paranormal? Ghosts? Friday the 13th?! ******** that s**t. Medical science is all good and fine but c'mon, guys. Even if the word has to be the same in every language so we use latin roots or something you could at least make it shorter.
And maybe with less consonants? I mean jesus....
It's so fun to say, though! Especially if you say it really fast.
Some phobias have normal sounding names. The fear of insects is Insectophobia. Ideophobia is the fear of ideas. Hypnophobia is the fear of being hypnotized, or of sleeping.
