I have 3 of the lovely buggers and I wouldn't trade them for anything. They are smart, smarter than your normal cat. I find myself always chasing after other black cats I might see, even if it doesn't like my company.
And as a sside note, no, dreams are not sparkly and magical and filled with hope or some such... you will always find a black cat, even if its at the end of a rainbow.

I love my black kitty, Onyx, she's the sweetest cat I've ever seen. I don't believe they're bad luck at all.
