Nami nodded. She also gripped her bow and had an arrow cocked and ready. She kinda had a feeling it was Liana, but somehow, she felt like it was someone bad. Nami didn't understand why a dock had been built if someone was waiting for them, like, to assassinate them - hence why she though it was Liana. Yet, Liana and her never got along, hence why she thought it was someone else.

Sighing, Nami trudged after him. She noticed he got quite a bit more protective now that she was pregnant.

Tieron calmly walked up the path. Somebody had really put effort into making an easy climb back up toward the road... so that ruled out coincidence. Whoever had made the dock and this series of steps knew that a pregnant woman was going to be arriving. The paint on the marking posts was even fresh and unweathered, suggesting it had been finished very recently.

Tieron's concentration was broken by a rustling in the leaves. His hand flew to the hilt of his b*****d sword, until he heard a barely suppressed giggle. He smiled a small smile and picked up a stick, jabbing it into the bushes.

"OW!" Saiya shot up in the bushes where she'd been hiding. Liana popped up on the other side of the path. The little girl, with nubs of horns protruding out from her thin bangs, looked at Tieron with an evil eye.

"Little Saiya had a dream you were coming back today. I figured we'd surprise you on the path. Welcome back." Liana said as she bowed slightly.

Nami, faster than ever with her pregnancy just as well, shot the arrow at the first sound of moment of Tieron's hand to his sword. It was only after the giggle did she regret even been an archer. Her eyes when wide, her face pale. She couldn't breath ... she's show someone, someone small. Then she saw Saiya.

Had Saiya been in the path of her arrow? or Liana?

Nami thought about what Liana said. Did Saiya dream about this too? She didn't move. She just gaped, unable to move. She dropped her bow and her shoulders relaxed, her quiver falling behind her. Her heart raced.

Seeing Nami's sudden state, he directed her attention to the stick. Up against the canopy over the path was the end of the stick... and the arrow lodged in it.

"
You should know better than to surprise two seasoned warriors. You could've been hurt."

"A kid shouldn't be able to sneak up on two 'seasoned warriors'!" Saiya said defiantly, leaping over the bush to hug Tieron in the same moment, then going over to hug Nami.

Liana nodded. "She's got a point there, Tee."

Nami said nothing but knelt down once Saiya came to hug her. she, human around underneath, hugged Saiya tightly, and put her head onto her daughter's shoulder, the side of Nami's massive horns brushed the side of Saiya's face. She still seemed pale.

"How's my baby."

She stuttered a little. Nami stayed low, and held the hands of the little girl before her, listening to every word. She didn't leave on the best of notes with Liana, but Nami wasn't trying to ignore her, she just knew Laina wasn't going to have anything positive to say.

"I'm good. Aunt Liana taught me a lot while you were gone..." Saiya sniffed and hugged Nami tight. "I missed you..."

Tieron turned and knelt down, putting a hand on Saiya's head and ruffling her hair.

"
She challenged me and defeated my logic... other than being a little reckless, I couldn't be more proud." He smiled at Nami and tossed the stick into the bushes. He'd recover the arrow if he got the opportunity to do so without Saiya or Liana noticing.

Liana stood away, thinking. She wanted to try and start over with Nami, maybe have a better chance at a positive relationship.

Nami smiled and brushed her human hand on Siaya's cheek.

"Oh sweetie, I missed you too."

She stood, but didn't let go of the little girl's hand, gently holding it in the metal hand that was her own. She looked to TIeron, gave a half smile, and turning to Liana.

"Thank you for watching my daughter."

Nami gave a bow.

Liana bowed. "It was my pleasure. She's a very sweet girl."

Tieron looked between Liana and Nami for a moment and sighed. They got off on the wrong foot, and it was mostly his fault.

Saiya turned around in Nami's embrace and poked Tieron with her foot. "What's wrong?"

Tieron sighed again and smiled at his adopted daughter, ruffling her hair some more.

"
Nothing's wrong. Just nice being back."

Nami stood, struggling to stand, her pregnancy painful, only in her third month. But she was a trouper, and it didn't bother her nearly as much as it would if she had been human. So she smiled. It wasn't really noticable, and she wasn't going to make too much a fuss about it.

"She is indeed. Caring too."

She said, talking to Liana off to the side a little in their own conversation as Saiya and Tieron interacted. Tieron's fiancee knew what was really troubling him, but it was clearning, so she hoped that he wouldn't loose too much sleep over it.

Tieron snatched saiya away from Nami a bit and hugged her against his legs.

"
I think that's enough of that for now. We ought to get back up toward the dojo, find quarters more purposed for the act of catching up. It's been an eventful few months for all parties involved, I'd be willing to wager."

"Yeah it has! I've got so much to show you!" Saiya grabbed Tieron's hand and starting pulling him up the path, wanting to get up to the dojo fast.

Tieron looked back at Nami as if to say 'Now what?' And made some jerking progress away.

Liana laughed a bit hesitantly. While it would be good for Tieron to indulge Saiya and go straight up to the dojo, as well as it being a good opportunity to have a little talk, she wasn't quite comfortable at being left alone with Nami just yet.

Nami smiled.

"Saiya, take it easy on your father."

Her tone had changed a little, become a little more motherized, than her normal and casual self, but not enough to change who she was in total. Nami shook her head. She took a few steps. She would keep up if they didn't sprint - its not like she was 9 months pregnant.

"Liana and I will bring up the rear."

And she nudged her head in the direction Saiya was pulling him.

"You'll show me too, won't you?"

Nami said to Saiya, laughing.

Tieron felt Saiya slip from his arm and sprint away, and he went after her, casting a last glance back at Nami and Liana.

Liana saw them run up the path and disappear around the bend and sighed lightly. "She didn't quite have this much energy while you were gone, you know. She knew you were coming back but she still missed you."

"I missed a lot of things."

Nami said, and realized she left her arrows behind. She held one finger up and smiled gently, quickly turning around on her heel, her tail balancing her as she skipped down a few steps and carefully, but not too slowly bend and got her bow and arrows that were in the quiver off the ground. Nami turned back and headed back up the few steps as she replaced the quiver on her back / side. She held the bow with her human hand for now.

"Not sure what I missed most. But thats not too important. How are you, Li?"

She said gently with the nickname, bringing the conversation more of a casual feeling.

"I've been good. Even at low energy Saiya is still a handful... not to mention the best student I've ever had. It takes her minutes to get the hang of recipies and techniques that it's taken me years to truly master. She has quite the future ahead of her if she decides to pursue the art of healing." Liana sighed again and stepped ahead of Nami, stopping.

"Nami... we got off on the wrong foot before... partly Tieron's fault but mostly mine... and I'd like the chance to start over. I think we can be friends if we try."

43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile... only 3 for proper trigger squeeze. :3
Nami nodded.

"Already behind me. I am sorry for getting angry."

And she was sincere about it. She kinda gave a laugh at the fact a devil was going to be a healer.

"Don't wanna get your hopes up or down, but she is a full devil. Wait till she's just even a pre-teen."

Nami gave a chuckle and winked.
