I'd have to say The Little Mermaid. Not the Disney one, though. The original. xD Where it's not all happy.

Also, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs' real story. *O*

The original by Hans Christian Andersen? That's such a sad story. I think I'll read The Red Shoes next.

Well... I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with any fairytales from other countries like Japan, but one of my favorites has been Issun-Boshi. If I had to compare it to anything, just think of it as another version of Thumbelina.
