Because wolves have always been portrayed as the tricksters of that time period for russia canada ect. the wolf is the trickster while in mexico or other coyote heavy areas the story changes a little to the coyote being the trickster like in the haveneros which is just another version of the three little pigs. i'm not quite sure how the three little pigs came to be but i'm sure that red riding hood came from an event where a girl and grandmother were eaten by wolves or a wolf and the story came to be from that.

They were the apex predators of the time and place. Big fears for the Big Bad. They were symbolic for everything dangerous in the dark.
there is always a bad wolf

neutral think the wolf is misunderstood character who only wanted to scare the red cap to do not wander the forest alone and defenseless, but it bring a negative figure too much into play. Why did the wolf ate the grandmother was a rhetorical question about the seriousness of the role he accepted, and that is often misunderstood. So I thinka wolf is character who says, promising to do something that puts you at risk can be selfish act which could make the ailment of worries old woman can not take. And so the Little Red Riding Hood got the dowry early and had money to play games. stressed
Back in the time where this story was created, wolves were the biggest problem. Wolves were the cause for mass killings of livestock and humans all over Germany (which was were this story was first invented). As well as Bears, and other animals that lived in wooded areas. To send a child into the woods was like signing over their death to what ever crossed their path.
This story was created to explain that in the form of a lesson for all children: "if you dont listen to your mother, you will be eaten up by a wolf", "Dont talk to strangers" and "don't wander off the path put down for you to keep you safe".
This correlates with modern society where you would tell your five year old these things to keep them from the real predators of modern society.

The wolf was NEVER misunderstood, a wolf does what it is designed to do. Just like human beings. And just like Bears.
Stories that involve them are just meant to teach a lesson and show you that the world outside of home is a dangerous place and you should always be careful of it.

Really? Ill have to look that up then. I usually pride myself in being a huge collector of old fairytales. If your right, I guess I learn some thing new every day! ^_^
Although the moral doesnt change.
Ishilied

Thats because your looking for one and not looking at the moral of the story, which was the ONLY thing that was ever important in fairytales.

Wolves dont matter, thats what Im trying to say, a wolf was a dangerous animal during those times and is only in that story as a basic predator. But the predator can be anything and anyone.
