Welcome to Gaia! ::

Little red riding hood.
I'd say the Little Match Girl, but that one has a timelessness about it that makes modernizing it impossible.

Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid would definitely be interesting, though.

The Wolf and the Seven Little Kids.

A single mother with seven children (not all of them hers though it's possible). A werewolf comes in and eats/kills six of them while one lives. And then from then on the mother and that one kid spend their time hunting down the wolf.

As much as I'd love to see that done I don't want to because I can see it turning into an Underworld like movie and they'd have Milla Jovovich as the main character.
Frog Prince. I wonder how they'll be able to modernize it... lol
Unholy Mary
I think Rapunzel would be interesting to see modernized.

I agree! Especially in two way, one that was light and funny like "Tangled", one of my favorite movies! The other darker and suspenseful. Like a girl who was kidnaped at a young age and trapped in a pent house apartment working with the cops to get her out. It could be really cool. 3nodding

The original True story "Pied Piper", instead of leading mice out the town he was leading children to their doom. It could be like the goonies, but darker.

Most people have a 'to do' list. I have a 'wait and see' list.
It's far more practical in the long run to becoming an evil empress of darkness.

Pretty sure that was in Sailor Moon actually. Only it was
a shota leading the kids to their doom with his pipe.

Would love to see someone modernise Gold Tree and Silver Tree.
Try sliding having two wives at the end of the film past the parents.

A modern version of Tam Lin would be interesting. I read one updated version from Susan Cooper set in the 70's ( it was written in the 90's) that wasn't bad, but I would like to see a full updating. It also has an intelligent, courageous heroin, which is a nice start.

Robert Browning's poem has both, and it would make good source material for your version. Good call. And a nice moral: pay your debts and don't piss off pipers.

What would it be?

I wanna see "The Red Shoes" or something dark like that. Ooh, or maybe "The Three Golden Hairs". For comedy, I'd recommend "Seven in One Blow".

Any other thoughts? Enthusiasts and dabblers alike are welcome to share their ideas.

YES, Seven in One Blow was awesome! ^_^ I'd love to see that!

Mulan, maybe because of the strong heroine.

I don't think Mulan is a fairy tale.
