I'll start with my family recipe!
Lamb(or chicken,or beef) shepherd's pie
1/2 cup diced celery 1 small onion,chopped 1/4 cup water
2 cupa diced cooked lamb(Or chicken,or 2 1/2 pounds cooked groung beef)2 cups gravy(Or chicken stock)
few parsely sprigs,chopped 1 can(8 ounces) peas,drained,or one half cup of cooked peas.
salt and pepper. 2 cups seasoned mashed potatoes. 2 tablespoons butter(NOT MARGARINE!)
Paprika.
Cook the celery and onion in water for minutes; do not drain them.Mix with the lamb(or chicken,or beef)1 cup of the gravy,parsly,peas. add salt and pepper to tasteSpread with potatoes and dot with butter.Sprinkle with the paprikaBake in a preheated hot oven for 30 minutes(Any longer,there is a small chance of burning down your house!)Serve with gravy hot.
