Added a new section about stocking your home bar.... I think I might need to make an entirely separate thread for tiki drinks.
A thread about tiki drinks would be greatly appreciated. I'm in desperate need of inspiration for a luau I plan to have this summer.
I can give you a couple of drinks that will be useful for a large party. I guess it depends on how many people are coming, but here are a couple of drinks good for medium to large parties.
Barbancourt Rum Cup
serves 30 give or take.
16 oz of fresh lime juice
16 oz of orgeat syrup
6 dashes of angostura bitters
3 fifths (3 full 750 ml bottles) of
Rum Barbancourt.
pour everything into a punch bowl filled with ice and stir.
circa 1960s
If you need something... maybe less massive

3 oz of fresh grapefruit juice
3 oz of orange juice
3 oz of homemade grenadine

fill pitcher with crushed ice and add ingredients. swizzle until frost appears on the outside of the pitcher. pour into glasses or tiki mugs (if you have them handy) and garnish with orange and lime wheels. serves 4-6 and is easy to double up on.
