Welcome to Gaia! ::

I chuckle to myself every time I see another person drinking Chocolateberry Earl Grey. Are you drinking it?

I have some, but it's a "sometimes" tea. I can't drink it often. 0.015873015873016 1.6% [ 1 ]

Sweet Peppermint Tea

Hm, I'll keep looking then. Hopefully I'll find one. ^^

yum_tea Cafe Louisa in Montgomery is more a place for coffee and desserts, but they probably serve tea there, too. There's also a Japanese restaurant in Montgomery, called Satsuki, where you can get really good green tea by the pot. You can get Numi tea at any Publix, but if you want the cafe experience to go with it, I'd advise going to Village Coffee in Troy; tell Tommy that Rachel from the old Atlanta Highway location says hi.

Aside from that, there are a handful of cities in Alabama with some small tea rooms. You can find addresses for them here: http://www.teaguide.net/tearoomsalabama.htm . I haven't been to any of these places, so I can't vouch for them, but you might have fun checking them out if you live near any of them.

So uhm, I've never been one to drink tea with anything in it but honey or just by itself. My girlfriend made me try her Chai tea that had honey milk and sugar in it when we met, and it was yummy. <3 I also tried bubble milk tea (mango flavour with mango 'bubbles') and it was pretty yummy too.

So what kinds of teas (bagged teas, because that's all I can get my hands on right now) are good with milk in them?

yum_tea Earl Grey is pretty good with a splash of milk, as is English Breakfast and Irish Breakfast. Stronger black teas tend to hold up better with milk, in my opinion, so try looking for those. Oh, and chai. Chai is really good with milk.

Oh, wow thanks. I'll be sure to go check those places out sometime and if I stop by Village Coffee I'll say hello for you (or your friend or whoever..lol). Cx
Oops, I mean MILK and sugar, not honey and sugar..xD My bad. D: Anyways, I'll try those with milk in them. <3 Tea with milk seems to be a new favorite of mine..
Also, I hear fruity teas are good with milk? So far in my experience with them, that has been true (read: once xD). Do you find that to be true (as long as they aren't fruity green teas)

Slightly derailing the conversation here...Hell-Bird, do you have any suggestions for preparing the Kenyan tea? Like, what temperature and how long should I steep it for? I wanted to try it today but realized that I had no clue how best to brew it, and I'd hate to waste anything that smells that good.

Hannibal Lecter eats the rude...

Mmmm... Chaaaiiii... God, I'm sleepy.

The Kenyan tea should be brewed strong.You might need a very fine mesh strainer for it, too. The lady who gave it to me also gave me a plastic strainer like this. But make it with boiling water, and steep for at least five minutes. You might want to strain it, even if you use a fine tea ball, since a lot of the granules will probably get through. I like it best with honey/sugar and some milk/soy alternative.

And considering how little sleep I got last night, I think I'm surprisingly coherent.
...I think I will do the same.
