I chuckle to myself every time I see another person drinking Chocolateberry Earl Grey. Are you drinking it?

Finally back up and moving again ... been bedridden with a worse case of whatever it was I had last month, and not even any tea (!) because I've been too ill to actually make any. This was especially sad because I got a whistling teapot the day before I got sick. It's not a very loud whistle, though ... so I'm a little disappointed, but it was also a very inexpensive whistling teapot.

Now to get over this wracking cough ... I've got a pot of Golden Sails Lichee Black in the works, and it's about to be doused in honey.

.... and I think the Chocolateberry Earl Grey is going to take over the thread. XD

Glad you're feeling better, Tev. And just as I come down with something myself. I'm amazed I've got the energy to make a cup right now, but my roommate's at work so I can't get her to do it for me...

I ended up making a pot last night that was a mix of Stash lemon ginger and Yogi Egyptian licorice mint. I like this. Added a lot of honey, and it's helped with my throat and stomach. Can't say much about the aches and the throbbing head, though. So I'm off to lay down again, now that the cats will finally let me sleep.
...I think I will do the same.
Glad you're better, Tev! I'm just getting over an icky cold, and I ran out of everything except for some raspberry flavored green tea. I ordered a bunch more, but from a store I've never used before. It arrived today, but I have to wait until the mail room in my dorm is open to get it. 8 o'clock can't get here soon enough!

Thanks, guys. Hope you get better soon, Hell-Bird, and glad to hear you're getting over yours, Tribble.

Been actually drinking Red Rose all day ... I ran out of energy to make full leaf today.
So has anyone heard of a london fog before? A customer just ordered it. Two tea bags (she used early grey, but I'd imagine any black would work) in hot milk.

I'm not usually a milky tea person, but I am a little curious I admit.

It's a speciality drink commonly sold in expensive beverage bars. When I live they sometimes put a shot of brandy or rum in to kick it up a bit (normally during the later hours.) I personally don't mind them, I like my black teas with milk or cream.

Huh, that sounds interesting, I'll have to try it. If nothing else both my mom and my boyfriend prefer black tea with milk.

London Fog is specifically made with Earl Grey. Some places add a little vanilla.

Starbucks actually had a version a few years ago, shortly before I went on hiatus to give birth to Lydia. You can still order it there, too, but it's no longer actually on the menu. They also offered a couple of other "Full leaf tea lattes" at the same time- one was a black tea latte that was just black tea with steamed milk and Classic syrup (which is just a plain simple syrup) and a red tea latte, which was the same thing, only with rooibos. It was the first time Tazo offered their full leaf teas in sachets, rather than just the CTC in filterbags.

It's just too bad people where I live don't like the expensive speciality teas, so restaurants eventually remove them from the menu.

I've never heard of it, but I have tried it with chai before at home. I used soy milk, due to my lactose intolerance, and I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make but it probably made some. I'll have to try it again with my roommate's milk and Earl Grey now.

And I'm surprised that I managed to catch and fix every one of the six or so typos I've made... I'm getting over this cold quickly, but I'm still a little foggy...
...I think I will do the same.

Hope you feel totally better soon! I've been arguing with my sinuses and nose for about a week now.

In other news, My mom and I took a chocolate making class. The teacher told us basically how to make tea infused ganache for truffles. Once we get the chocolate and materials I'm pretty excited to try it. Not really sure which chocolates to use. (Also if anyone has any other tea-based truffle/chocolate fillings they like, or are curious about I'd love the recipes!)

I have reorganized the tea in the cabinet. Put some in a small wooden box to get rid of the little cardboard boxes. Got rid of thirteen of them. Might cull through the tea itself soon. My roommate doesn't use the Woman's Moon Cycle, and there's some Stash decaf vanilla chai that smells and tastes musty, and I have no clue how old it it.

I'm almost out of chocolateberry. And the coconut chai because it was good with ultra spice or hot cocoa.

I got my tea order! I actually got it a while ago, but I wanted to wait until I'd tried everything before mentioning it. It's all from a website I hadn't heard of before. I was iffy about it because it's owned by a gigantic corporation that doesn't even specialize in tea (in fact, it seems to specialize in tacky American flag decorations and safety equipment) but I was pleasantly surprised.

The tea I bought was earl grey, hibiscus, and the herbal sampler. The earl grey wasn't anything special and was kind of lacking in the bergamot department. Adagio's was better. The hibiscus was great. It was sweet and tangy, and it brewed up hot pink! Almost neon! As for the herbals, the peppermint was nice and strong, the lavender very relaxing, I haven't tried the chamomile yet but I'm assuming it's passably chamomiley, Casablanca was a typical fruity tea, and the Bingo Blueberry was the actual color of a blueberry. This place likes making its tea fun colors. My favorites of the sampler were surprisingly the two rooibos blends. I got Sunshine Lemon and Bourbon Street Vanilla. The lemon was everything it sounds like - bright, cheery, lemony, and perfect for cheering up on a cloudy day. I don't know what bourbon tastes like so I can't really judge the bourbony-ness of the other one, but it was really good. It was sweet and full of almonds and vanilla.

Phew, that was a lot. Anywho, I thought you guys might like a brief update on the mystery tea shop situation. I will definitely be getting more of the rooibos and peppermint. Maybe some more lavender since it's been helping me relax.
