I have such massive garden envy >_<
We're still planning our garden out for this year.
The plan so far... we have four huge planter boxes to work with. XD

- Tomatoes (red grape, yellow grape, and two bigger ones I can't remember
the name of right now).

- Herbs (basil, parsley, dill, lavender, rosemary, oregano).

- Arugula.

- Endive.

- Peppers (bell, jalapeno, and maybe poblano).

- Eggplant.

- Possibly some zucchini and crookneck squash.

And I really want to have some strawberries, but I need to find away to keep
the squirrels/birds/fire ants out of them. x_x

Will post pics when we have it all planted. <3

Oh, I love poblanos!

We had a hanging strawberry planter, but I think the birds got to everything, much like they do to our tomatoes. We wouldn't mind so much if they ate the whole fruit, but they just peck and leave. So annoying.

I ordered a pack of Cherokee Purple tomato seeds and a pack of Ananas Noire Tomato seeds. I'm going to start those in a little planter, because I definitely want those to flourish. x]

I can't wait to see pictures!!
I'm planning on tearing up a portion of the family's backyard and making a garden. I've already got some things growing inside the house and I'm hardening them off on the nicer days we've been having.
It is exciting.
I'm doing green beans, sugarsnap peas, cucumbers, sweet 100 cherry tomatoes, cajun bell peppers, basil, cilantro, pomegranate shrubs (little sprouts so far), and apple trees (I have four whips outside and two little tiny sprouts inside).
Subscribed, too.

Very nice. We'd love it if you'd share pictures of what you have so far. We need a new Featured Garden on the front page. xD
Show you what I've propagated so far? o 3o Okay.
And then I'd take pictures of the little spider keeping the gnats away... If I can find it.
Such a nice little arachnid.

I don't know if its good or bad for my garden that it doesn't seem like anything alive gets into my backyard now that there's a fence around it. I saw a couple of cat prints and rabbit prints in the snow before but last year the most major pest I got were gnats and one lonely fat green caterpillar.

I was afraid my tomatoes wouldn't do so well because there wasn't even a fly to do any pollinating.

I wonder if you can order a mantis and ladybugs like in the old days. *-*

You certainly can. I believe Territorial Seed company even has em.
And I know I've seen ladybugs available at garden centers and the like.

Planted 20 more seeds today in little planters. 10 Wapsipinicon Peach Tomatoes and 10 Snowberry Cherry Tomatoes. O:

Once I get my Cherokee Purples and Ananas Noires I'll plant 10 of each, too. If they all do well I'll probably give some of the saplings away to my Dad's friend and to my Mom's coworker. They're all into gardening, too.

You're going to transplant them into the main garden?

If I have room, yes. XD I'm actually banking on the ones already in the garden not sprouting. Is that being pessimistic?

I just finished prepping our garden today! Takinga break before actually getting around to the planting sweatdrop I love growing my own food.. I started out as a container gardener, but the house we're in now has enough space for a little plot, so we've expanded.. Plans for this year are: strawberries, artichoke, brussel sprouts, green beans, green zebra tomatoes, druzba tomatoes, some mixed variety of cherry tomatoes (hanging), sweet and hot banana peppers, cayenne peppers, mammoth jalapenos, habaneros, black beauty and longboy eggplants, cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, canteloupe, and watermelon. *whew* I think that's all of them wink

In my herb garden, I have garlic chives, boxwood basil, Italian parsley, and dill.. we also have asparagus, garlic, and onions on the other side that are coming in now.. those are all the tricky ones!

No pictures from this year yet, but if I can find the ones from last year, I will post them. We had okra, pickles, zucchini, and goldbar squash last year... all of which we will probably avoid this year because we had so much yeild it was almost impossible to keep up. We had to give a lot of it away, and I pickled and froze tons.. we still have a full shelf of pickles left xp

Oh, and a few pages back, someone asked for a good zucchini recipe... these are two of my favorites!
