Welcome to Gaia! ::

So growing up as a kid I've learned that I was really WEIRD with my oatmeal habits. When mom made oatmeal, we ate it with butter and milk, nothing else. Since then I've learned that my faaaavorite way is to mix a scoop of cottage cheese and some salt in it, kind of like an om nom two minute porridge.

Since I got to college I've learned that I'm not opposed to the idea of maple and brown sugar and all that.. but I still stick to my guns!

What about you, gaia?
I like adding brown sugar or honey after cooking it with milk. I also love adding some chopped up apples and some cinnamon to make apple cinnamon oatmeal.

I sometimes eat the quick cook oats uncooked with some milk and sugar as a quick and filling meal.

uh no. I just add hot water

And eat it plain? sweatdrop

OH GOSH I LOVE OATMEAL!
My fav way is to have it with skimmed milk, add chopped banana and put it into the microwave with the banana. it releases its natural sugars making it so sweet and smell so good. Then I add cinnamon. I wait until it sucks the milk in for a long time because I love my oatmeal hard wink

Brown sugar and maple syrup.
It turns a once healthy breakfast into a horrible breakfast! Yay me! hahaha

On a rare occasion I'll add peanutbutter (no brown sugar/syrup) and milk, or dried strawberries and milk. And when I have it in the house, powdered chai latte mix makes a great addition too! (but again, not very healthy. lol).

With milk and fresh fruit.
- Classic maple and brown sugar.
- Berries and bananas. Sometimes peaches and apples too.
- Chocolate chips, when I need to fix that chocolate craving...
- Honey
- And always a tiny splash of milk or cream.
I prefer my oatmeal porridge as a long cooked, thick porridge. I usually sweeten it with a bit sugar while cooking.
When I feel fancy, I add some seasonal fruit to it.
I always make my oatmeal with milk, then add butter and cinnamon. I'll also add dried bits of fruit. Like apples, plums, rasians. Whatever I can find really. Sometimes I put honey in it.

Steel-cut oatmeal is my favorite. The texture is completely different from rolled oatmeal - it's not mushy. It costs a lot more, though.
Tiny bit of brown sugar, banana, and raisins mmm
with my mouth...

nah but i love mine with
butter and milk too, ive never had warm oatmeal breakfasts with anything else on it, just butter and milk(with a pinch of salt)
