This is a two part question. First what's the food item(s) a family member(or friend) makes that is abosolutely AMAZING!!! Second what food item(s) do you make that your family/friends love for you to make.

Let's see, my inlaws aren't very good cooks(shhhh don't tell), but they do have this dessert called snickers salad(essentially whip cream, vanilla pudding, crushed snickers, and apple slices) that is very good. My mom makes wonderful homemade applesauce, death by chocolate brownies, and homemade pizza. She actually used to be a really good cook, but she's gotten a little to experimental in the past few years. And unfortunately i can't say her improvements are my favorite.

And now me.....well I get several compliments on my potato salad, my bbq hamburgers, and my homemade french fries. My personal favorite though is my roast, I've tweeked it and I love the results. So juicy, tasty, and the meat literally falls apart so no knife needed.
Honestly, the only family member's cooking that I like is my non-blood-related aunt. Every year when we go on vacation, (and I only get this ONCE A YEAR gonk ) she makes sausage biscuits and gravy that are- to me- to die for. As for me, I make a special, secret guacamole that my family is constantly asking for but I try to make it only once in a while.
My dad & oldest sister are the cooks in the family. emotion_bigheart (...I'm the baker.)

My dad makes kaldereta & awesome chicken wings. <3 Kaldereta is a Filipino meat stew. Pretty much always, whenever we have a party, my dad brings it.
My sister makes awesome eggrolls. They're Viet-based.

I just make every baked good, excluding cake, taste delish.

Yep, if you can get your hands on some good homemade sausage biscuits and gravy they are so good. I use to have the once a year problem with stuff my mom only made for thanksgiving. My siblings and I would stuff ourselves silly because we knew there wouldn't be any leftovers. But once I got my own place I decided once a year was ridiculous, So now I make several things from "thanksgiving" all year. Good thing to, because my mom doesn't make them anymore.

ooohhh my favorite thing to do with pound cake is make strawberry shortcake out of it. I don't think I've ever met anyone who made it though. We always got store bought. Is it a lot better homemade?

My mom makes amazing Shepard's Pie, my aunt
makes beans and..er..that's about it.

My mom makes other good stuff, but nothing compares
to her Shepard's pie~

I make pancit and lumpia frequently (since we have so
many family events). Those are always a hit. Though I
also make almond butter bread and ambrosia/halo halo (though
I'm not sure why those are really all that popular).

I come from a family of good cooks and bakers, but within my immediate family we all have our own roles. My brother specializes at making sandwiches and omelets, my dad is good at grilling things as well as breakfast (was once a short order cook), and my mom is just a good all-around cook and baker. My mom makes toffee pie, arroz con pollo, lemon meringue, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, peanut butter cookies, kailua pig, pineapple updside down cake, homemade soup, pasta salads, jello salad, homemade bread, bread pudding, casseroles, good holiday food, and pretty much everything else under the sun. She also makes cakes and once took a class in cake decorating cakes. As for myself, I like making pancakes, sandwiches, biscuits, lemon curd, brownies, and cookies. Oh, and as for arroz con pollo, we're of colombian descent, so it's kinda a big deal for us. My colombian grandmother refused to teach my mom how to cook it until she got engaged to my dad. And soon enough my mom will pass that recipe down to me, either before I move out or before I marry. I hope to have a chance to visit colombia this summer, and to experience many of the different foods!

My dad can barbecue pork, turkey, and goat (pulled pork-style). It's the best because most people that make it themselves put bones or annoying little chewy bits or it's too bland. His mom and sisters make really good cakes completely from scratch. Everyone else's food is okay.
My families filipino, so dishes like adobo chicken and beef steak or frequent dishes that my mom and her sister's cook when we get together.

My grandmother and my mother and my aunts make lovely vegetable soups! C:
My mom isnt really a great cook, the only dishes she cooks really well were passed down to her from my grandmother. That being said I love her Chicken Adobo, Pancit and Biko (I used to just call it sticky rice hen I was a kid). I just learned how to make the dishes myself last summer, my mom finally taught me now that I've moved out of the house.

I know how to cook many things, and whatever I havnet learned yet I'm researching and trying to teach myself. My friends always joke that when they 'grow up' and make enough money, theyll hire me to be their personal live-in chef.
