Welcome to Gaia! ::

Making some now - my own recipe. Yellow cake mix - because I can with some pumpkin butter in the mix, egg whites only, apple sauce in place of oil and some white chocolate caramel cream. Delicious!

What's your favorite cake and do you make your own flavors up?
I like being more creative with the fillings/frosting/cake combinations then being creative with the actual cake recipe. One of my favorites is peanut butter cake with a raspberry filling and chocolate frosting... tastes like a chocolate covered peanut butter and jelly sandwich <3

chocolate cake is my favorite

My fiance loves it when I make "butterfinger cake". Chocolate cake mix + 1/2 cup peanutbutter. And then a batch of milk chocolate frosting with crushed butterfinger candy bars mixed in.

It tastes just like a big, moist, delicious butterfinger.

But MY favorite cake is "Jello cake". White sheet cake baked up, and then you poke a bazillion holes in the top with toothpicks/chopsticks, and then pour fresh jello on top (still liquid, not set up). You can use any flavor, but my favorite is blue raspberry (which is getting harder and harder to find!). The liquid jello seeps into the holes and makes a really pretty pattern when you cut the cake, and that makes it very moist. Put it in the fridge to cool for a few hours, and then top with cool whip!

I can eat a whole cake of this by myself in just a day or two.

flourless chocolate cake.

i had it for my birthday last year because i'm really picky with normal cakes. D:< they have to be moist. this is especially true now because i can't eat ice cream to make up for a dry cake.

I'm always experimenting. I'm about to do chocolate caramel petits fours with dark chocolate ganache and coarse sea salt and chocolate shavings on top.

wish me some luck! lol

I'm now not so sure how these are going to turn out, simply based on the caramel I've used.
This caramel tastes like something I've had with pecan pralines rather than a cake type caramel.
I'm hoping this all turns out well but now I'm starting to doubt this particular caramel in this combination.
