any true ff fan will say that FFVI is the best and that they need to remake it in the graphic style of FFXIII. but you my younge man are still a child and have not played the originals when they first came out and apreciate the story for what it truely is. That makes you a kid....sucks doens't it it's like being to short to ride the roller coster....yeah i am a ff nut and i apreciate all of them and most all the characters except FFXIII that was crap complete crap....urg i wanna puke just thinking of it. but anyhow you will never apreciate the originals because why? ur to younge to

Except I do appreciate the originals. Because without them, the better titles wouldn't have come along, so I am grateful for their existence. Doesn't mean I have to worship them, when newer titles are clearly more polished and well-thought out than they are.

And true fans would say VI is the best? I guess that's why nearly EVERY game after that totes universal acclaim far surpassing VI's and sales to match, with IX and XII being the most critically acclaimed titles in the entire series.

Grow the ******** up and realize not everyone has the same opinion as you, and that the new games are getting better. That's the nature of progress. That's what they're supposed to do. You nostalgia faggots make me sick.

Right. It's totally manly to follow your fate blindly and not try and change it, despite knowing that it really won't help anyone in the end. That's called being a coward, not a man. Tidus actually killed himself so she wouldn't have to die, and break the cycle of Sin's rebirth once and for all. Tidus learned that he was practically a figment of someone else's imagination, but knowing that, still helped his friends and loved ones, even though he didn't have to. He could have run away from everything. Including the fact that his father was basically the harbinger of everything that spelled out doom for the whole world. But he didn't. He stood and fought against all odds, and won. Bro, it doesn't get much more manly than that. Get back at me once you learn what it means to be a real man.

It is not logical for a character to be a lead when their sole purpose is to be the foil for other characters, despite how "interesting" they may be. Making the character you favor most the lead is not only not good story-telling... But fanboying, bro.

And whatever is in Final Fantasy VI that you claim makes it better than all those games, must be something you and only you can see.
When it leads you to your death, yeah. That takes a lot of courage man. IT is not cowardly at all. Tidus was not manly in any way.

Running way from it all would have done him no good. He wasn't real to begin with. He had nothing to lose because he was nothing. He was imagined up by someone else. That's not many. Yuna had everything to lose. She pushed forward anyway for the good of everyone in that world. That is manly.

Again,. I cannot fanboy over a game that I am not a fanboy over. I hate how linear FFX was. I hate Tidus. I hate Rikku. I think Lulu is a stuck up b***h. Auron was a good character, though. He was a powerful and driving force in the story, something that Tidus really wasn't. Tidus spent the game being the whiny little b***h that he is.

There are plenty of people that believe that Final Fantasy VI is the best one man. As for what's in it, a brilliant story with many twists and turns, a collection of excellent and well developed characters, the best villain in video game history and music that could drive just about anyone to tears because of how beautiful it is. Final Fantasy VI is the epitome of everything Final Fantasy was ever meant to be. It is beautiful. It is an absolute work of art.
you know why i call you emo cuz sorry but most of the male population is nothing but complaining lil brats. I am 23 years old and have four children do you honestly really want to say that i should slit my own throught cuz of my opinion of final fantasy wow that is wonderful. the most i said was that "TEENS that upset me are the ones that play it on PSP alone" if you are not a teen then state it and don't be disrespectful. If you are a teen and are upset by what i say wa...i don't care i use gaia as something to do when i am not dealing with real life. you know like have a job and kids not play video games all my life or play on gaia all the time. It is rather upsetting your comment of slitting my own throught though....i said ppl that do the PSP make me wanna slap them....and yet you go to the extream of wantting me to commit suicide...wow....are you sure ur not a kid...or at least a really big one? Listen i will respect ur views and no longer make comments to you are about you but if i see one more of these that are rather disrespectful i will make sure you are not on the site...not to mention i don't know where you grew up but talking about a ff character that had character development or not has nothing to do with respect from one person to another...learn the golden rule kido treat others how you want to be treated you might get a girlfriend instead of beating off over video games smile have a nice day
Last thing though if square is getting the why does XIII exsist...that is nothing more then a coaster for my drink....i mean really and then they make a sequal....if they keep producing s**t like this then i think i might stop playing all together...got to give everyone a chance but that was stupid and VII was the most selling ff of all time and it was because of the introduction of the three dementional graphics you apply that to VI and you would have had the same result if not better but unfortunatly they chose to wait till the next to initiate those graphics and have never entertained the thought of remastering the originals completely...maybe cut scenes but not the whole game becuase it already took them three years to make VII and it would tak them double that to completely remaster the game or the others....so eh...i love them all but i hope after this sequal crud they make a real Final Fantasy and not some really nice graphic movied that i just press X through for about 30 hours and beat the game.

I can't even read True Esper's posts. emotion_eyebrow

Me either. Then again, I don't really... you know, try. I did get something about "twenty-three years old with four kids", though, so whoever this person is, he's obviously not on the upper crust of society.

any true ff fan will say that FFVI is the best and that they need to remake it in the graphic style of FFXIII.

Google "Famitsu video game poll." You'll find that when the Japanese were surveyed to name their favourite games across all genres, four FF games made top ten.

#1: FF10
#2: FF7
#6: FF4 (edged out by two Dragon Quest games and a Saturn text adventure)
#8: FF3 (with the Onion Kids, and without Luneth; edged out by Tactics Ogre)

Behind them: FF5 (15,) FF8 (22,) FF9 (24,) FF6 (25.) 23 was Tokimeki Memorial... pretty much the genre-definer for the Dating Sim games.

Most polls that I've seen tend to have FF7 and FF10 at one-two, then wild variance below those.

I'm about six weeks out from being 35, so my perspective might be a little different. ^_^

FF6 has a critical problem, which the Star Wars prequel trilogy would go on to have: a potentially strong female, with a background suggesting that she should be strong, but by the end has degenerated into just another simpering needaman. The difference is that Padmé (before Episode 3) repeatedly demonstrates her strength, on her own initiative and her own terms - and her degeneration can be pinned on a combination of advanced pregnancy (with Force-sensitive twins, no less!) the stress of the Clone Wars' climax, and Anakin's own further seduction into the darkside.

Celes has none of this. We're told that she's a great general, and that she torched Maranda, and that she's in the stockade because she was headed to the front line to stop Kefka. We're told these things. Then Locke comes along, and she quickly degenerates. She doesn't protect herself when Cyan flips his lid in the Narshe returner base, Locke protects her. Only when she feels safe does she give any retort to Cyan, handwaving his distrust with "Use your eyes, then decide."

But does Celes do anything - anything? You might say the Opera House; but it wasn't her idea, and naturally the scene is better suited to reflect her degeneration than any strength. The Magitech research factory isn't a case, either - even Locke was moved by Kefka's false reveal. On the Floating Continent? "I wish I'd never been... born..." before bringing down the wrath of Kefka's 17-fold hatred upon her with a convictionless sword thrust.

On the island with Cid? She has no initiative for believing there are other survivors anywhere. If Cid dies, she attempts emo suicide. Getting Setzer to rejoin? Cheerleader-style. Her ultimate comment to Kefka? "I have someone who loves me!"

You might think I'm being unfair; but Celes is one of two central characters, supposedly existing to be a counterpart to Terra, but derailing and blackholing the story merely by existing.

despite being a part of an incredible storyline and overall experience of gameplay, Tidus was exceptionally annoying; he'd fit better along with Disney characters neutral

id probably say my least favourite wasnt a character but an Aeon...in particular FFX's Yojimbo because when you got him you had the game beaten...his attacks were too powerful and could kill even Penance (a 12,000,000 HP super boss) IN ONE HIT!!!!

Dont get me wrong he was vital in the game...but still
I was never a fan of the stupid British kid that's forced to join you in FFXII, he has an annoying voice and I can't control him at all. He just goes and does his own stupid sh!t, f|_|chinking my thing up. I'm under the impression everyone but Ashe and the main judge looked stupid in XII, so I'll ignore the general visual distaste with him.
I personally thought that Quitis was kinda lame...sure she had the whip and everything but that was all....Nothing special at all.
