Cait sith sums it all up he jus plain sucks!!!!!!! I was thinkin what would they do if they were in a battle with a weapon and the guy controlling Cait Sith had to use the bathroom. Cloud "Cait Sith use Cure 3 we need it hurry!!!!!!!!!" "Cait Sith!!!!!!!!!" (screen switchs to some shinra guy in the bathroom)"ahhhhhhhh much better"............

Actually Cait Sith, is the best magic user in the game...and besides in RPG'
S the people never use the bathroom, or change clothes (and I HARDLY coun't X-2 as an RPG). Cait Sith was introduced as the retarded spy person..who actually rebels against his own company...
xp Tidus... no wait Yuna... nah the entire FF X cast, bunch of whiney looser quest peoples

Oh... and to answer the question -- which I might as well do -- Final Fantasy VII and Aerith.

As for why, VII's plotholes drove me insane, especially not making who the true villain was clear to everyone, and in Aerith's case, I simply was annoyed by her personality, I guess. I've never been able to really determine what about her annoys me. Still, she's an important character to her game's storyline, and I'm sure that to those who like she has a great deal of good qualities -- heck, I can even see some of them myself, such as the bravery she displayed in going to the City of the Ancients alone -- that make her thoroughly enjoyable. I've simply never been able to share the same sentiments, I'm afraid.

I cannot agree more. You simply took the words right out of my mouth. xD

People hate Tidus, but likes Cloud. Aren't they the same person!?

Actually, if people were paying attention to both games, Cloud's a LOT whinier and he's really weak-minded.
But you forget (or choose to ignore) the fact that people in general tend to not pay attention to weaknesses in Cloud. 'CUASE HES IS IN T3H FFVII!!!!!11111!

But you gotta ask who has more reason to whine:
Tidus is in a completely foreign place to him, nothing makes sense and he is thrown violently from his (presumably) pampered life as a celebrity into the harsh, fearful world of Spira. Like that reality show 'The Simple Life', only more realistic and a few hundred steps lower (or higher, whatever one makes FFX sound smarter) on the retard scale. He cries (or at least sounds really sad) when he finds out that Yuna plans to martyr herself to beat Sin, and he's unwittingly been encouraging her to do it. He cries again when he is forced to kill his own father to save the woman he loves and her whole world, knowing that he's gonna disappear, and never see the world they were all fighting for (ignoring X-2).

Cloud (from start of game, not timeline) is hardman mercenary, former elite government SOLDIER, known as a success back home. In time he learns that, again, nothing makes sense, and nothing (well, not a lot of it) he knows, about himself, about his past, notably a sequence of events that lead to his state at the start of the game. He learns that he was a failure, he never made the grade in SOLDIER, was able to be used like a puppet, a failed experiment, and that he's been living a big, fat, Queen Brahne sized lie. And whats more, his most trusted friend knew about it and never told him a thing.

I probably missed stuff out here and there, but I'll let you decide.

Does it really matter if any of them was a whiner and weak minded?! I mean something known as 'Character development' happens while you're playing the game.

(Ranting, may include spoilers)

Also, don't forget, Clouds goes insane whenever he senses Sephiroths presence. And when ever Sephiroth appeared, he sometimes questioned Cloud about his existance, as if he was asking him, 'Do you really exist, or are you just a big lie, bieng controlled like a puppet?!' And while that happened throughout the game, Tifa soon helps Cloud piece together his mind when she and Cloud go into the lifestream.

As for Tidus.....well he at least had a right to whine. All of sudden, while playing in competitive blitzball, his home is under attack by a creature he soon finds out is his father. He soon finds himself stranded into another home, but he soon befriends himself with a bunch of people who have a grudge against Sin, and falls in love with one. But once Tidus soon finds out that Sin is his father, he and his friends soon display a plan on how to wipe out Sin for good, although it'll risk him on fading from existance, but once he encounters Sin, in the form of the Final Aeon that Jecht was turned into, he finally was able to tell his father how he felt about him.

Well i'm done....although I think I might be missing some, and as for the worst character, like I said earlier, it was Kefka, because unlike other Final Fantasy villains, hes a coward, a wuss, and he practically had barely any development whatsoever.
Kujo. He's just bleh
Ahhhh, yes. The old "Does FFVII suck or not" debate is still alive and well... I'll not go into it too deeply, but I do not by any means think that FFVII is the best FF by any means. I liked FFVI more than it, I like FFV more than it, I liked FFVIII more than it, I liked FFIX more than it. It isn't a -bad- game on its own, but certainly -not- the best FF. It is the first game to go 3-D, true, but that's all it has going for it over the likes of the SNES FF's.

Worst FF: Final Fantasy. Okay, so it is the first one, but I still can't get past the total lack of interesting plot, overabundance of random battles, and I hate not having Pheonix Downs (ok, so that one is a small gripe, but still! It would be nice to have them!)

Least Favorite Character: Tifa. Don't ask me why, but I hated her so, so much. Her only purpose seemed to be "the girl with the huge breasts" and that was all. She had... no real personality. I liked Yuffie more than her, and that's saying something.
The characters I dislike would have to be Cloud, Tidus, & Sephiroth-in some ways.

Cloud. He's so selfish and cocky. He just wants to save the planet so he can be noticed. He just wants to get materia. The Black Materia, so he can be strong. Tifa & Aeris both had a crush on him, and it was obvious. The dumbass didn't even notice. He just acted clueless. Rude. I mean, god, any man would want Tifa- just look at the size of her breasts!

Tidus. He is just DUMB. And self-centered. He hates his dad for the most stupid reasons, and he complains too much. The only person he's nice to is Yuna, because she's good looking. He's really mean to Auron. Not to mention he's a weak character.

Sephiroth. He's just all talk. And a smart a**. His sword is the only thing that makes him strong. He thinks he can do anything. To top that, he killed Aeris. What did she do to him? He wants to go to the Promised Land, right? Well she's really the only one who can help with that. And his hair is too long. He reminds me of a stronger and better looking version of Cloud.

usually a main character is tough and most of the time knows what he is doing like cloud or squall but this guy cried most of the time
kept getting flash backs
and always tried to run game on yuna

this is my story line got old the first 300-4000 times he said it

i think aeris was stronger than him

he is right
ask someone who isnt sure about his past about there existance atleast he didnt whine alot he didnt know wh he even was and if he succesfuly defeated his foe with a condition like that and tried his best to not put his friends in danger then i call him a great leader

Tidus is a little on the naive side, but not dumb. Remember, he was just thrown into a completely different world than the pampered life he lived as a sports star. That also explain why he's a little self centered at the begining. But, I think giving up your very existence to end a cycle of pain and suffering is kinda selfless.

His dad tortured him. That's a good as any reason to hate somebody. And he isn't just nice to Yuna. He kinda helps out more than her. He tried to help out Kimari (who isn't good-looking unless Tidus is a furry fetishist) with Biran and Yenke, as far as I can remember.

I wouldn't say he was mean to Auron. Auron knew what was going on, yet left Tidus in the dark. And, Tidus had know him since he was 7(?), so it's kinda okay to be mad at someone for something like that. I wouldn't say he's weak either. One of his stregths is his ability to cast spells like Hastaga, which help out the party imensely, or his fleeing ability (can't remember the name) which can get you out of a random battle if your a** is being handed to you on a silver platter.

And, Sephiroth wanted to be a god. To do that, he summoned Meteor to injure the planet. Aeris was going to cast Holy, and stop him. So, if someone is trying to stop you from being a god, killing them works out in your favor.

Oh, and I don't really hate any characters. I do dislike Vincent, but that's only because his Limit-breaks don't suit my style of play.

Hate
FF7 fanboys -- They give FF7 a bad name, it's a decent game
FF7's attention -- There are more FFs than 7
Tellah -- He has serious issues and can't get more than 90MP even if you level him to 99, I'm glad he dies
Rinoa -- She always needs saving and clings to Squall like glue

If you remember the end, no it doesn't work. Most of the scenes during the end took place years later, which is evident by Nanaki haveing little ones. But Cloud survives to do battle with the real Sephiroth, and I'm sorry, if meteor of that size hit the planet, no one would have survived. Not Cloud, not Sephiroth, not Sephiroth's clone(s), not Nanaki, not even the planet.
FFVIII-Selphie's hair. No, Selphie.

FFIX in general. I just hated it. The only FF game where I didn't even bother to find the secrets, etc. I did like 3 Chocographs and then decided 'screw this, I'm going to the big pink globe thing'. Zidane I didn't mind too much, except his appearance. That pissed me off, the whole metrosexual frilly boy kind of look. Steiner I hated with a passion, he was level 30 by the end of the game. Eiko I hated at first, but then realized she kicked about 3x more a** than Garnet and I started using her a whole lot more, Freya was pretty cool, Amarant was cool but his skills were generally useless (except Aura) and I hated how he looked; that weird rooster hair, like a Jamaican ghetto greaser. QUENYA I HATED MORE THAN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE HAS VOCABULARY TO EXPRESS. DUMBEST. CHARACTER. EVAR. Her personality pissed me off, her equipment pissed me off (forks?!), her abilities pissed me off, her appearance pissed me off most of all. Wtf? A damn marshmallow with a hyperextended tongue. Agh. Level 27. XD Vivi I didn't mind, but he was so damn underpowered I just couldn't survive using him.

FFX- Kimahri, that's about it. It wasn't as much his character that he started in the center of the Sphere grid. I was just like, ok, so wtf am I supposed to do with you? For some reason, I just couldn't make him a valuable character. If I used him for one thing, there was someone else who could do it better. If I used him for lots of different things, he wasn't good enough at any of them to really be useful. Wakka's ice cream hair pissed the hell out of me, but I liked him otherwise. Not too fond of the blitzball as a weapon though. Though I understand perfectly why it was. Yuna I was not a fan of. She just seemed so bland to me...so absolutely lacking in any defining quality. The most memorable thing to me about her is her one blue and one green eye. That's about it. Rikku, I'm sorry, I thought was absolutely awesome. I had her from Moonflow to the end, every battle I could put her in, she was in. By the end, she had completed her own, a little of Yuna's, all of Tidus' and all of Auron's sphere grids, about to go into Wakka's. She had 40 more strength than Auron (she broke 100), she had far more agility than anyone else (also breaking 100), she had a crapload of skills and abilities...she was the best fighter I had. Since she could attack 4 times when Auron could once, and usually hit for twice as much damage (she could take down Behemoth Kings in two whacks), since she had all of his abilities and skills as well and far more hit points, she was literally at least 8x as good as him, if not more (higher defense, accuracy, evasion, magic defense as well). Maybe it was because of everyone having their ultimate weapons fully upgraded though (Auron's- Jesus Christ), but I had absolutely no problem with the last bosses. They were painfully easy. The fins went down in about 8 turns each (they got one turn for themselves, did nothing...I took no damage from either fin battle) once I could pull the airship in...overdrive went down before it was 1/4 full, the sin core/sinspawn went down with 3 castings of holy, seymour went down in 2 castings of holy, braska's final aeon went down in about 12 turns, I had tidus talk to it just once...and the aeon/yu yevon battles, you can't lose anyway. Really really easy...

FFXI- WHY is it called FFXI? WHY?!?! This pisses me off SO much. SO much. WHY??! It's Final Fantasy Online, it should NOT have been cardinalized. It's not a Finaly Fantasy!!! It's a spin-off, like Tactics! AGH
