I still need to kill Yiazmat.
He's at the point where
almost all of his physical
attacks are one-hit KO's.
And when it's not a KO it's a 12+ chain. xd

If you can live long enough to see him nail you with a 12 hit. xD

At this point. Turn off all gambits, except for Arise/Raise and Attack. Because at this point that's all you need. Because you're characters are going to be dieing soo fast that buffing them is a waste of time. That's how I did it atleast. o-o

At 80+ hours, I had beaten the game 49 hours ago. xD

Hiya! I know you've prolly all heard this about a gazillion times, but I'm trying to get Tournesol. I already bungled getting the Zodiac Spear (Screw you Squenix for making the first treasure box in the game do that!!!), so now I'd really like to get it. (Since Erdrick's Sword - erm, the Wyrmhero Blade, means I've gotta beat Yiazmat first, I'd like to have Tournesol for the fight.)
My question about getting it is a Bazaar related one, and not really just about the Tournesol:
Do you have to sell ALL of the required items (Gemsteel x3, Empyreal Soul x3, Serpentarius x3) at once to the Bazaar? If I've already sold some of it, does it count towards the total?
The reason I ask: Not knowing about stuff ( I had made it to Giruvegan before a buddy of mine told me about the Zodiac Spear, prompting me to look at a guide and subsequently swear a lot), I've sold the Gemsteels that I had gotten from the Rare Adamantoise and Montblanc, and at least one Empyreal Soul that I can remember.
Thanx all.
You can sell them at any time. As long as you sell a total of 3 of each, but beware that Masamune only takes 2 gemsteel to unlock. I

If you sell Gemsteel x2, Orichalcum x3, Mallet x2 you'll unlock Masamune and have to get 3 more Gemsteel. That is unless you sell Empyreal Soul x3, Serpentarius x3 at the same time as Orichalcum x3, Mallet x2, (and of course Gemsteel x3) in which you will unlock both Tournesol, and Masamune at the same time.

Empyreal Soul, Serpentarius, and Gemsteel cost 30k each to buy and Tournesol itself cost 600k and if you're going for Masamune at the same time it costs 350k so you'll need over a mill in gil for everything. Just a heads up.

It always takes me 100+ hours to beat the game, but time doesn't really matter to me when I'm gaming....except metroid 3.....got that one down to less than 2 hours. xd rofl

How the hell did you get a 15 hit chain? O_O The max is 12! HAXORZ! As for beating the game, I just wanted to see if the final boss was even all that good. My strategy guide says that he'll be a tough battle. But until he makes himself immune to damage he's a damned breeze!

I was near death when he got up to 7 or 8 and by then renew was cast, healing the person he was attacking, then he kept going up to 12 or 13 and renew or an x-potion was used and I made it to 15 before it auto-KO'ed my character. I had a couple 12 and 13 chains that day. I don't think he has a limit on how high the chain can go, he'll just keep going till you're dead. I wasn't very pleased.
Guest party member DO reduce the amount of Exp you obtain. When I went through Girivegan the first time, I was getting about 1200-1300 exp per Behemoth. Later when I went back with Reddas in my party I was only getting 900-1000 exp per Behemoth. So roughly a loss of a 25%. Kinda worth having him in the later areas of the Great Crystal though. He blocks and chains a lot even if his damage is far inferior to that of my party.
whoo ffXII is the best ^^
now that yall said yiazmats hard hes gonna get harder for me... i didnt have trouble with him my first playthrough.

Yaizmat is a push over dude. The only thing that's "hard" with him is when he get's to his last couple of circles of health. He's really a pushover, though I wasted 5 1/2 hours of my life to beat him..This game should've been on the 360 so I can get achievements for it damnit.

Good game. I was wondering if someone had the strategy guide and if they did if it stated what the different characters were best suited for. IE: Weapon wise, skills, etc.

And w00, 9th post!
yes i need that very question Answered too im having a very tough time master the idea be hind the LP stuff most of the time i just get wut i can lol

My chars are lvl 21's/24's/25. I did a good deal of leveling and where I'm at right now in the story the enemy is lvl 11/12 at most. A lot even lower to 8 or so (I'm not that far in the story).

I didn't like the fighting at first but after I got use to and the new system it was great. Until Vaan reached lvl 18 though I hardly touched the liscense system (I had over 1,000 points for my party before I spent a good deal but mainly I was going for general things like slots for HP+, cure spell, those slots to make my chars faster, strength/defense boosts, etc.).

Weapon wise I've basically kept them with what they started with but not sure if that will be best while going further in the game. For a few I have thoughts on what to try and keep them with for weapons, but if possible I'd like to stay in a certain class for each one that they were designed for.

I've looked around online and so far no actual saying on what each character was officially designed to be best at (if there is one even). The only things I've read was Penelo for daggers/speed attacks. From in game play that Frann is meant for magic (she does seem to have higher MP points) but what weapon to go for her...

blah, I think I'm over explaining... sweatdrop

idk if yall covered this but none of the characters really have a better for a certain postion thing.. it all depends on the weapons u use i have the guide n it says nothing bout it.... it just goes without saying really that if ur guna use a spellcaster give them a bow or a gun so they can attack also n ur better off sticking with the orginal weapon lines for each character untill about halfway through when u have access to many different kinds then u should switch it up a bit with stuff like ninja sorwds and katanas.... idk bout the measures though cause i never found them much use.. jsut like the bombs.. i do know if u have someone use the guns then try to get a folumaount (spelled it wrong) its the best gun and with basic onion shot ammo ul tend to do 3k with 1 shot on bosses..only thing is.. u cant buy it and its a really really rare drop in select chests in places like area 19 and the lushu mines... no..the other mines where u run into the dragon and where zodiark is
