Found a .jpg of the liscense grid.
This might help if you want to take a charcter a certain way.

Make with the clicky!

Thanks for the thought but I've already seen those. They help when I'm going for a certain thing, but it doesn't tell what I want to know.

I got the game! I got the game. I didn't even read the topic. xD Sorry, but yeah... WOOH!

Quick Question:

I just rescued Penello, and looked ahead in my guidebook and I'm about to fight Judge Ghis or whatever. I've read through a lot of the FFXII threads and a lot of people say he's pretty hard. Any suggestions for beating him? Do I get Ashe before I fight him?

Eh, you rescued Penelo and you don't have Ashe? Don't you mean you Rescued Ashe as that happens before you get Penelo back in your party. But yes, you get both of them before the fight (one after the other and both arrived in my game at level 24).

I just got past that part though biggrin so I'll try to help you out. When you fight him there will be 3 guards with him. I suggest killing those off first (I also suggest gambits if you don't use them). After that, he shouldn't be so hard. Especially if you have Cure on your party and gambited up on top so they cure when needed.

For me he was fairly easy once I got those guards taken care of. Fran basically healed Vaan the entire fight and Vaan/Balthier did most the attacking (though Bal also healed a good deal - also all but Vaan had ranged attacks so he basically picked on Vaan only for me).

Main thing that got me after the guards was he slowed two of my characters and it took me a moment before I noticed it and fixed the problem sweatdrop

BTW: my characters in the parter were 25/21/21.

I meant I recused Penello (from the mines). My characters are kinda low, but I'm going to be fighting a hell of a lot of people before him, so it should work.

Thanks for the help.

i dislike the battle system, give me the classic turn based over the battle system any day! i loved the story and all but the game was ruined by the battle system.

The battles system can't ruin the entire game. I loved the battle system, however. I made you strategize.

Downsides to the battle system that I've noted so far.

The long a** list of possible commands to do. Green/White/Black/Arcane/etc. etc. Even if the character doesn't have the liscense to use anything in that catagory its still listed there!

Then there are Gambits. Good in some ways, but last night when I was lvling up I noticed something. I could run into that nice lovely area of the mines with all (and just) the skeletons in it and after I got my character's gambits nicely set up I didn't have to do anything. Just sit back and watch the battle unfold.

T'is nice though how they got rid of monsters carrying gold. I always wondered in previous games why some demonic wolf could carry around 200 gil.

FFXll is awesome but they should made it to be online since the battle system is the same as one for an online adventure

ffxii is one of the best ones, the only thing i really don't like is it has a bit 2 much back-tracking, my questions,
how old is fran
which esper is the best
where the hell can i find the genji armor

They did it to give it better flow and change the battle system up from the previous systems of their non-online based games. But don't you have better reasoning then that as to why it should be online based? If not, hush you!

Back tracking? How so?
Frann, t'is unknown. Who really cares though?
Esper, that would in part be opinion on some matters. This/Genji though I can't say my thoughts to it as I'm not too far into the game. I'd suggest trying to find a walkthrough or get a strategy guide biggrin
