I wouldn't mind if they made a game about Sephiroth/giving a clear finish to Sephiroth if it as good as Crisis Core >.>.

I absolutely love this game! I dunno about the Sephy story, I got all I wanted of that from Crisis Core.

Yes, Gast was the head of the Science Department before Hojo, and probably made the initial discovery of Jenova. He left Shinra sometime before Sephiroth's 8th birthday; we can't be sure when, because we don't know exactly how long he was at Icicle Lodge with Ifalna, but it had to be with her at least a year. Bow-chika-bow-bow...

Anyway. I would love to know more about Gast and Ifalna. I mean, for background characters, they're really important. I mean, just think about what Sephiroth's life would have been like if Gast hadn't died...think about what Aerith's life would have been like if Gast hadn't died.

Gast was practically like a father figure to Sephiroth and probably hearing the full story of his birth would have changed him.

I wonder how Gast and Ifalna met in the first place. I mean, Ifalna was the last living full-blooded cetra, so wouldn't she have to stay away from Shinra so she wouldn't get experimented on? And yet, she ended up with Gast and gave birth to Aerith.
Pruning the quote tree. :3

Considering the age that Sephiroth would have been when Gast was still around, and the way he idolized the man even as a grown adult, Gast would have certainly been a father figure to Sephiroth. Also telling is the fact that the FFVII team has said in official materials that while writing the story, one of the relationships they considered for Aerith and Sephiroth was brother and sister. Traces of this connection still linger in the actual story: Gast was a father figure to Sephiroth in his youth and the 'father' of the Jenova Project (making Sephiroth a metaphorical son), and was the birth father of Aerith herself. (But then again, another connection they considered for Aerith and Sephiroth was being former lovers. They fixed that with Zack, thus connecting her to Cloud instead. Still, Aerith seems to have a thing for SOLDIERs...)

I think that if Gast had been the one to tell Sephiroth about his origins, he wouldn't have lost it. But then again, perhaps if he had been told about his origins by someone other than an insane man at his most emotionally weak moment, he probably wouldn't have lost it anyway.

(Mm...Aerith likes the tough boys with the nice abs. XD) If Aerith and Sephiroth had a connection in the game, it probably would have changed the story and her fate.

Now that I think about it, I'm curious how Ifalna and Aerith actually escaped the lab. They probably would have had help from the outside. (I'm thinking it's Sephiroth) but wouldn't their escape plan have to be quite complex because they'd have to avoid being caught by the Shinra staff?

Oh yeah, the DoC battle with Rosso was quite disappointing, really. I thought it would have been more difficult, but it didn't take me long to beat her.
Even the final battle with Weiss was easy.
Hm...Sephiroth would have only been about 15 or so when Ifalna and Aerith escaped. He likely would have been going full tilt in Wutai at that time...but even if he had seen Ifalna when she was in the Shinra building, I don't know if he would have done anything to help her escape...that would be pretty direct subordination. Plus, this was back before Sephiroth knew much about the Ancients (besides common folklore), or identified as an Ancient; the only motivating factor to help her escape would be his own experience in the labs, but it's known that children who come from abusive environments don't develop empathy, and his fear of Hojo would likely have kept him from doing anything about it. (Plus, Aerith would have remembered if Sephiroth had helped her and her mother escape from the labs...and considering the fact that Ifalna died at the train station means that she and Aerith didn't get away completely unscathed.)

...But that's canonically. If Sephiroth and Aerith would have had a concrete connection in the game, then Sephiroth helping them escape would have been perfectly logical. (And I love the idea anyway. X3333)

Oh, yeah... I forgot about that. Ifalna and Aerith escaped DURING the Wutai war.

You know, the people that tried to capture Ifalna and Aerith did should have used tranquilizers to put them to sleep if they had to bring them back to the labs. Quite stupid to kill the last full blooded cetra, but then again, they probably never knew about the lab specimen that escaped.

(Mm...I am a fan of AerithXSephiroth. They just sound like a good couple to me. Sephiroth with anyone else doesn't really click...)

I used the mimic/counter trick with cloud's omnislash to beat emerald. Before that though I had beaten it without it, just thought it'd be fun to do it and even make a youtube video out of it. If you wanna see what it does, go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23z6Xm48qfQ

I can just imagine Hojo screaming at the guards not to kill his precious specimens, and one guard being all 'Oh s**t... *nudges shell casings under a sofa in the hallway*'

I like Genesis/Sephiroth, but that's because I'm a yaoi fan. *brick'd* (The tension between those two...you could cut it with a knife.) I prefer the 'Sephiroth and Aerith as siblings' interpretation, since it seems to fit in with Loveless as presented in FFVII proper (when Cid quotes the one scene he remembers, he says that the woman is the 'sister of the lead', and if we assume that Sephiroth is the hero out of the three main characters of Loveless, then that would make him the lead), and because even crazy Sephiroth considered Gast to be a father to him in some way (expounding what a genius he was for finding Jenova and creating him and such).

Still, Sephiroth/Aerith can be cute. :3

-shudders- I don't like Hojo's laugh. It's sort of creepy in a way.

Hm. Didn't Cid watch the Loveless play that was in Midgar?
XD I can imagine him bawling over a dramatic scene. It sounds so out of character, but it's pretty funny if you think about it.

final fantasy 7: advent children rocks!!!

I have the psx classic black label and greatest hits, and it is most definitely the greatest game of all time.

I've only played the old PSX FFVII and PSP FFVII Crisis Core
wasn't much into how they made Vincents game..and the movie didn't really do it for me.

The only thing that pissed me off about FFVII was that i had all of aeris's limits and her final weapon (which would have come in handy against the weapons) and the b.... still died.

CloudxTifa FTW!

I don't know if this question was asked already or what, but on Advent Children when Vincent makes his appearance and is protecting Cloud, why does it sound like someone is going through the menu from the game? Is that part of the music or something?

Ma'am There Is new FF 7.. Its ADVENCHILDREN COMPLETE
