So I was roaming around the interwebz the other day and stumbled upon the information that Square-Enix is putting FFXI in the past and start up fresh with a new MMORPG. Apparently it has similarities to XI, but is different in various ways such as the leveling and class system, but in reality not much information has been leaked out about the game yet. So for all of you, discuss, what do you think of Square’s new online project? Will you play it?

I know I am excited. I tried playing FFXI earlier this year and quit due to a lack of community. I heard everyone quit to play WoW, which I quit WoW from boredom, and I just don‘t get it lol. The game seemed solid and I loved the game play and graphics. I most definitely plan to purchase this game.

I played FFXI for 4 years before quiting due to money issues. Chaochio was my auto generated name for my Tarutaru whm/blm. I can't wait for FFXIV, I am hoping that if there is a subscription fee they might make it a bit cheaper but I suppose that's just me being optimistic

I REALLY REALLY hope XIV will be better than WoW, I played WoW to level 30, quit cause I started noticing at 25 that it was either, Kill certain Enemy, Kill Cartain number of enemy and/or get Item/s enemy is carrying, or talk to someone, go halfway across Azeroth, talk to someone else, THEN do one of the other things I mentioned...

oh, and GO Taru! Mithra! and Elvaans! XD

It looks really nice and the character development looks very interesting, but MMO's aren't my thing.
I've given so many MMO's a try but I just don't like the fact that I have to be forced to team up with
people pisses me off because sometimes it's impossible to find a team. In one game I spent like
almost two hours trying to make a team. and I was apart of an active guild. But people can't just
stop what they're doing and go to help you when they are almost all the way on the other side of
the world map. It takes for ever to travel and it cost a lot of gold to teleport. Depending on the place.

Also I hate having to rely on people either. Especially when people are a** holes and expect you
to pay them rare drops. I hate that s**t.
So I will be missing out on the gaming experience.

I used to play 11 ( back in 2004) and never had a problem finding people till i had to stop working and focus more on my classes. I tried play again this year but i was unable find anyone to play with since their is pretty much no one on lower lvs. Im hoping this game wont make you depend on other people as much as 11.

FFXIV Looks like a generic piece of s**t.
The battle system has actually been described about just about as good as it can. I can already picture what its going to be like and... how I wish that I'm wrong about this.
I mean I pray to be wrong, because if I am right, I haven't just lost all hope in square, I will lose hope in a majority of the gaming community. I like Square games, I defend games I don't like that they make, and even I'm upset by the decisions they are making in this game.I liked FFXI but allow me to quote the team.

"You can be a mage by equipping a staff, you can be a warrior by equiping a sword, But you can't be all classes because you can't carry all the equipment."
"durability system."


It just boggles my mind, how they could change like this. There is no classes, no instead we are treated to arts. Which you know what that is? Its basically an upgraded version of Runescape. You learn abilities by practicing in them. Which doesn't make it a bad thing... no... no games do this right all the time. Square always screws itself over with it, the only one they've actually done right with a free learning system was FFX and that still failed because you couldn't call it "free."
People progressed like classes in that to. This is just the type of system that Square should never try. What is going to end up happening is its going to be a combination of ideas from 3 games, one of them fake, and its going to be a scrambled mess.


FFXII, WOW, and The World.




I'm pretty sure how you can imagine how it will be like WOW if you've looked up any information on it. and up top I told you how it is going to be like FFXII. In fact thats pretty much all you can say. Even without the "Armorer class system" thats all there is too it. Actually it would be more like comparing it to FF2 but FF2 wasn't free roam and not active time... So imagine a system like FF2 and FF12 combined. Then imagine it combined with the game physics, and I didn't say combat, I said "physics" of World of Warcraft. Then add "the quest personalization system" which is you take cards and mix them up to create your own quest 3 cards to be exact. Remind you of something from a game, that is a game, of a fake game?
