To fix the lag issue, Ad-hoc would be used. I believe Tekken Dark Resurrection uses it.

Ad-hoc? Care to explain?

(Also, the last thing I want is for Square to make another fighting game. They didn't do it right the first three times, why would the fourth succeed?)

Ad-hoc is just a fancy word for "close-proximity wi-fi".

As for the Square and fighting game issue, I thought that in earlier years, rather than work on the game in-house, they outsourced to other companies to develop the game for them. First thing that came to mind was that Ehrgeiz was developed by Dream Factory, and was published by Squaresoft.

That's not to say that I wasn't disappointed in Squaresoft's attempt in years past. But seeing as how Kingdom Hearts's battle system was developed in-house, I wouldn't want to discredit them completely. It doesn't look like this game will completely be a fighting game anyway.

Even though they managed to develop Kingdom Heart's battle system in-house, it doesn't mean much to me. The battle system has never been known to be very complex at all. It's mostly mashing the attack button, with the other buttons occasionally being used.

But, I guess it'd be fine as long as it's not meant to be a full-blown fighting game. I definitely don't trust Square to make a solid, balanced, fighting game with some level of depth.

I don't think any ever does with them constantly releasing International Editions/Final Mixes of their games every year (introducing fixes and balance each time).
Amazing job on the thread, Selphie. heart

Kuja's a confirmed character, huh? x3
Hmmm. Well.

*cough*

Seems interesting enough.

Maybe a fighting game that will include the more covered, less slutty girl type characters. I mean, I'm sure Aerith wouldn't be a fighter, but Rydia would be cool. biggrin

I can say for sure, but I beleive the Tobal series has some merit to it, doesn't it?
I'm game for this. I think it's ok they're trying to expand the series to get more people to play it.

Regardless though, it will always be a milking cash cow for them so they're gonna keep going no matter what.

I loved FFXII and have been getting into the FF series more and more lately so I don't mind. Can't wait to get FFXIII.

Wow man, that brings back memories. Crash Bandicoot, Tobal no.1 and I think.... I can't remember the last game but Tobal was one of the first games I had for PSX. XD

I have some faith in SE regarding this game, though Last Remannt has piqued my interest after reading the little blurb on 1up about the Square pre-party confrence.

Rydia is super awesome, but she's hardly more covered in that leotard. >.>
I'd love to see Leon and Golbez fight in this game.

Battle of the dark knights.
The Zidane for this game scares me. Something about him seems unholy and wrong. Maybe its the totally inapproprite expression on his face, or his inhumanly thin ankles. Either way, he's scary.

I think Nomura Kuja looks better. But Nomura Zidane looks even more like a girl.
