What the ********! This game totally cheats!
Squall used blasting zone on me and when I dodged, I got stuck on the edge of the platform.
I just rolled over, while staying perfectly still and the blast hit me, followed by his EX-burst and defeat.

Stuck on the edge of the platform? Isn't that the intended effect when you are trying to roll over the edge?

You don't go over the ledge when you dodge roll. That's supposed to happen xD

Completely.
It's not cheating when that happens.

It's a cornering tactic I use when I'm playing as Onion Knight. Since his Comet is easy to dodge at times, I wait until the opponent gets close to the ledge, they roll into it, get stuck, and WHAM! Comet into Ex-Burst.

It's a fault because it makes it impossible to dodge.

What possible reason is there to keep you rooted to the ground when you're trying to dodge? There's no benefit, only hindrance.
I'm sure it's a fail-safe for when ground moves become air-borne when going off the ledge. Don't quote me on that... it just makes sense. sweatdrop

You know, you can jump, if you want.

It's how the game's made. Too late for them to fix it so deal with it. Besides, most other games I know do the same thing, you don't go off the ledge when you dodge

Blasting Zone...

You know that's what I thought I was doing, pressing the X button.
Jump, Dodge, they're pretty much synonymous, just different directions.
Yet for some reason when you're rooted to the ground, you can only do one at a time.

If you had Omni Dash equipped, you probably could have dashed out of the way.

In my opinion Jump -> Dodge takes too long. I usually Dash -> Dodge (Cancel) which works faster. You just need to cancel ASAP. I'm sure Omni Dash is better but I like Free Air Dash for Free Energy mindgames.
Blasting Zone is a slow attack.

He has enough time to jump dodge. The computer does that to me all the time.

But, I agree. Dashing away is better.

I think the preferred dodge depends on the character. Some are better with Omni Dash, some are better with Free Air Dash. Also depends on personal tastes

What's the most efficient way of training up the baddy characters?

It feels like I've been trying to level up Ultimecia for ages yet she's only Lv 5.

Help would be awsome. ^^
Chocobo Down + Chocobo Wing + Chocobo Feather + 5x EXP boost + Magic Pot Summon + Max-level, max-strength ExDeath = 99 levels in one fight.
