Old video is old. Seen it
All I'm worried about now is ExDeath, Bartz, and Kefka's voices. =d

Well. I just got an email from Square Enix Members on a deal for preordering Dissidia.

The email gives you a promo code to use on Amazon.com to save $5 on it and get a small 10 song Dissidia Soundtrack as a bonus.

If I had the money and a working PSP (mine is still bricked) then I would pre-order right now. But my mother insists I get the Kingdom Hearts game for the DS instead because I own the DS, Dad owns the PSP. gonk

No hero for FFXII.

You only get Shantotto from FFXI and Judge Galbranth from FFXII. That's it.

As for why, I have no idea. I guess Galbranth was chosen because Shantotto is on Cosmos's side. And Square wanted to keep the sides even so I guess that's why he was chosen.

It's okay. Kain Highwind from FFIV was one inch away from being in it but got cut out. Nomura did say that if there is a sequel for Dissidia, he'd be in it no matter what.

Oh how they better put Kain in it. I'd love to see him in the sequel. I would also love to see Locke, Celes, or Gilgamesh (but he would be a bit of a stretch)

And there's no hero for XII because all of them suck B[ So they had to even it out by taking a villain out of XI

I've really never understood why they went with Shantotto and Gabranth instead of a proper hero/villain pair from FFXI and FFXII. Maybe because it would be difficult to have a pairing for FFXI so they just stopped at FFX? Maybe because ten is just a nice even number? I've no idea really, but I've always thought that was a stupid decision.

I really hope we get a console sequel. Dissidia I feel is a fantastic concept, but they definitely could have taken it further.

A PS3 sequel/update would be nice as an exclusive =d
As for XI, maybe since it's much different than a normal FF game? I dunno, they could have used either of the Zilart princes for a villain, or even any of the different classes for a hero. But Shantotto is the only real "main character" really in XI :/
Maybe they just wanted to stick with the original ten, back during the Squaresoft days

True, though they were originally going to use Prishe, so there must have been more choices. Though it would have been interesting, if they didn't want to use a generic avatar, they could have had a "create-a-character" feature as FFXI's hero and then Shadow Lord as the villain.

Besides mist techiniques, the heroes on FFXII didn't really do much.

Exactly, so none of them are worth playing as

The same can be said for a lot of the Final Fantasy titles. What sets Squall, Cloud, Bartz, Warrior or Light, Onion Knight, and Firion apart from the rest of their respective parties besides final attacks and personality? Pretty much the only difference in FFXII is that all of the armor and weapons were available to everyone.

Most of them accomplished more than just preventing a war.

Bartz was a mime and Onion Knight was really just a class. Main characters always have a distinct difference from other party members, Once you got into IV and later, every party member was unique (except in VII. Bunch of generic unlikeable character that I still wish would fall down a set of stairs on fire).
Cecil class changed and had unique abilities, along with many of his team mates
Bartz was a mime as I pointed out
Terra had Esper powers (although the Rages were still the best abilities in that one. Stray cat roflpwns j00)
