In the DS game, they pronounce it as "Seh-cil", right? That sounds fine to me.

I've never heard the name "See-cil" before, as some people pronounce it.

Out of curiosity towards any who've played/seen the Japanese cutscenes, are the characters' names physicallly spoken in dialogue? Namely Tidus, Bartz, and Cecil?

Yeah. That's how I found out Zidane was pronounced "Jee-dan", and Tidus as "Tee-da", both of which sound very similar to "Tina".

Alright cool then. The Tiedus/Teedus debate can finally be brought to an end. I'd also like to hear Cecil, though I guess his name was already spoken in the DS version, and I think it was Seh-sul, as it should be. But Bartz I'm interested in hearing spoken just because it's such an ugly name spoken phonetically.

With Dissidia, I can see a lot of people are going to correct themselves with the pronounciation of some names. I'm interested in hearing how they say Zidane and Tidus' names.

And yeah, I hate how they pronounced Cecil's name in the DS version. I wonder if they will keep it the same.

A lot of people pronounced it See-Sul, but I've always known it as Seh-Sul, except for this one guy I knew that pronounced his last name See-sul. The Japanese pronounce is Seh-sul though. Well, as an English adaptation at least (otherwise Seshiru I think).

I honestly don't see why they'd even pronounce Zidane's name as anything but the French way. If they pronounce Cait Sith just like they do in Scotland, I don't see why they can't say Zidane as it is said in French. confused

I usually get the names right.
Except for Tidus, I was calling him Ti dus and not Tie dus for the longest.
At gamestop they have the cases for Dissidia already. But their in the "Coming Soon" Section.

I'm kinda excited for Dissidia. I think Zidane had a part in that. And I kinda like all the new styles of gaming they're bringing into Final Fantasy. Gives us a bit of variety. biggrin
