In before the idiots.

One of the biggest things noticed is... Sarah and Chaos.

Well, one more then the other. The first is a guess by a few people (including me) but the second is DEFINETLY Chaos. Its exactly alike, right down to the placement of skulls and horns.

The genre is stated as a Dramatic Progressive Action."...Which means nothing to me right now...

Anywho. Nomura is on this project. Which...means....Cloud/Squall Esq Light Warriors?

So now we've got...

Dissidia
Tactics for PSP
Tactics A2 for DS
Fabula Crystal Nova for XIII
Ivalice Alliance
FFVII Compilation Games
FFXII Revanant Wings...

Im starting to lose track of one of my favorite series.
Damn misleading trademark. Why did it have 'Final Fantasy' in the title?
Many of us heard about this weeks ago when the trademark was issued, but it was shoved off and a non-ff game.

I'm so glad it's for PSP. XD
I'll have Crisis Core, Tactics, and now this to buy for it.
I don't think I'll spend money on the anniversary edition of 1 and 2 though.
Zack: I won't doubt about Nomura's involvement in the project. We could expect to see something that related itself to another Final Fantasy that he's done in an obscure way. The resemblance to Chaos is quite uncanny.

Neokun: I should make a flow chart or something. Might keep people from being confused. I know I'm lost with what Final Fantasies are out.

Seraphor: Yeah, with the trademark being released a while back, many people also thought it would be another addition to the Fabula Nova Crystallis Project. I too have a PSP, and am glad that it's possibly a totally different series (I'm not ruling anything out just yet). It looks like the PSP is finally getting some attention now. 3nodding
Well, although it's Final Fantasy it's still interesting news. So Dragon Quest IX goes to DS and PSP gets a new Final Fantasy that may not be a rehash.

The Square Enix party looks like it'll be interesting with The Last Remnant announced, more info on Fabula Nova, possibly an announcement of FFT coming stateside, amongst other things.

Edit:: You know, I really really hope it's a decent action-strategy RPG. That would be awesome. Hoepfully with so many SE games this one won't suffer from a low budget and a less the decent team.

Last Remnant was debunked as a rumor. There's to be no such title. SE hasn't sunk THAT low, at least.
Chip, "The Last Remnant" is a new Square Enix RPG being part of a different IP. It's not related to Final Fantasy.

Coils within coils.

First I heard of it was some sweden news magazine. Then I hear its debunked, and now this.

Wish someone would give a CREDITABLE (I refuse to accept the link bellow. English 'sources' come a dime a dozen) references. Like Shonen Jump/GanGa/SquareEnix themselves?

I don't disbeleive you An, but you know me. I like seeing truely valid sources.
While it is not a credible site, it is the only one that actually has the excerpt typed out from Game Informer:

http://www.siliconera.com/index.php/2007/05/07/new-square-enix-rpg-the-last-remnant/

While we should take everything with a grain of salt about this game, we could safely say that it won't be a Final Fantasy game, if it ever comes to fruition. And besides, this is Game Informer, we know not to trust them for anything anymore anyway.
We'll find out at the Squeenix party what's real and not. I'll I know is I followed a couple links and ended up seeing some convincing scans earlier in the day when I first saw the Kotaku blurb about it. Granted there are some really talented photoshop artist out there.

All I know is it seems like everyone is heading to the Squeenix party. Can't wait to hear the 1upYours podcast about it.
Looks like we're going to have to wait till the 12th and 13th of May to find out for sure. 3nodding
Personally, I would like to see Square focus on the main series, or at least, not tackle so many at once. I just feel there are too many now. Might just be me though...

More games=More money. More money=more staff. More staff=more games.

SquareEnix has gotten itself into a nice cycle, now that its gotten out of its rutt, as far as Square is concerned.

Spin off=Easy money. Easy money ensures the company is alive, so that when they DO start taking original risks *Points to Fabula Nova Crystalis*, if it backfires, they don't end up in the red again, and then we have NO FF's. At all.

If I were you, I'd be thankful.
so, is this the "final fantasy no one knew about?"

also, i'm guessing it might be a sequel or prequel or whatever for final fantasy 1, hopefullly not though, i'm just judging by the artwork
